Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111 in /mnt/www/phpfun/mq_orderby.php on line 34 This is my development machine,
Mysql Error 2013
so I don't have connection issues. This was working. Things I've tried: phpMyAdmin mysql error 1111 works fine.If I point to another MySQL server, it works fine.I've tried referring to the MySQL server as error 2003 hy000 localhost, blix, and by IP address: 10.0.2.15. It's a really simple script too. PalaDolphin 2010-09-13 23:07:06 UTC #2 I'll try that. ebissi 2010-09-14 19:23:41 UTC #3 You can also disable Bind http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1420839/cant-connect-to-mysql-server-error-111 to Ip, so the MySQL server answer both LAN and WAN. Its important to configure the accounts allowed hosts too. Specially the admin account (root in my case). ebissi 2010-09-13 20:55:47 UTC #4 In the server configuration, look for "Bind to IP".(I use MySQL Workbench)In a fresh install here (Ubuntu) it's binded to 127.0.0.1 (localhost). To fix the problem bind to the https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/mysql-system-error-111/52923 IP visible to the LAN or WAN.Mine is 192.168.0.1 (LAN) PalaDolphin 2010-03-17 22:35:20 UTC #5 Update: localhost works (only), but 10.0.2.15 doesn't work for MySQL in PHP. It DOES work in phpMyAdmin and the CLI: mysql -u root -p In CLI I can perform queries. PalaDolphin 2010-03-17 22:43:26 UTC #6 Oh, forgot. I cannot use localhost because I use a shared .ini file to get the database server from. It is shared between VirtualBox host OS and guest OS. The domain 'localhost' would cause PHP applications running on different OSes to cause each OS to look for it in a relative domain, their own. Since there's only one set of database files, there can only be one database server up and running at a time. For this reason, the domain must be an absolute one. PalaDolphin 2010-03-17 23:03:34 UTC #7 Update: I get an error: mysql -h10.0.2.15 -pERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.0.2.15' (111) But, mysql -p works. grg | 3 posts | grg Member I tried to log in to my admin page today. I was able to view the log in page, but when I entered my user name and password, I received this error message: Could not connect: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111 This error message is also displayed if I just try to view the form (not from the admin panel on MachForm). I am able to access the database from my web host panel, so I am pretty sure that this error has something to do with the php code. I'm not sure where to go from here, though. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help. Posted 8 years ago # yuniar Your database server might be up and running, but your website doesn't seem able to connect to your database server. I suggest to contact your hosting tech support. Official info from MySQL regarding this error: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/error-lost-connection.html Other people having the same problem: http://blogs.delerue.org/index.php/computing/2007/07/15/mysql_system_error_111 Seems to be mysql server configuration issue. MachForm Founder Posted 8 years ago # grg Member Yuniar, I contacted the hosting tech support, and you were exactly right. It works now, and I'm very relieved about that! Thank you very much for the help, and keep up the good work. Posted 8 years ago # RSS feed for this topic Reply You must log in to post.
