See here Depending on your ultimate goal, you may insert a md5-hash of the TEXT-column instead to preserve entity identity. Otherwise you need to put pdt_desc and such into another table and refer to it's primary key - that will save you some storage/memory too. share|improve this answer answered Aug 30 '13 at 16:44 user2722968 563314 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. See here. VARCHAR() is supported but you should try using a CHAR() instead. MySQL will store it as fixed-length anyway. share|improve this answer answered Jul 17 '15 at 3:49 Will 10.7k83564 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. The 12974 column corresponds to definitions in the `include/sql_state.h' MySQL source file. The 12973 error code is displayed only if you use MySQL version 4.1 and up. 12972 codes were added for compatibility with X/Open, ANSI, and ODBC behavior. A suggested text for each error code can be found in the `share/english/errmsg.txt' error-message file. Because updates are frequent, it is possible that these files will contain additional error codes.
