The following error has occured: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refusedI've used the MySQL database with Frog and plenty of other CMS, so I know that the database work and web server https://www.wolfcms.org/forum/topic1101.html work fine, and I can install Wolf using a SQLite database, but MySQL always seems to give me that error, using multiple different version of Wolf too.Any ideas? 2 Reply by David 2011-01-03 09:53 David Wolf CMS support Offline From: Edinburgh, UK Registered: 2009-07-16 Posts: 2,333 User Karma: 67 Re: [SOLVED] SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused These sorts of problems have surfaced sporadically, even back in Frog days. We really need to know more about your system, though. Can you tell us platform and version numbers for everything involved? (Linux/Win/Mac? server? mySQL version? etc.)? Using Wolf CMS professionally and for profit? Please consider supporting Wolf financially. Thanks! Nothing fancy about the connection just trying to see whether the connection is successful or not. I am using MAMP to host the database, the connection I am trying to use is this: setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, mysql error code PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); echo "Connected successfully"; } catch(PDOException $e) { echo "Connection failed: " . $e->getMessage(); } ?> I have been using postman to test to see if the connection is working, but I keep receiving this error message: Connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused Before I was receiving an error message of: Connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory This was because I had set the servername to localhost, through changing this to the IP address it has given me connection refused and I have no idea what is wrong. Any help regarding this would be appreciated, Thanks. php mysql pdo share|improve this question edited Apr 1 '15 at 17:26 Alex 136216 asked Apr 1 '15 at 15:57 Jack Smith 1601113 It sounds like your MySQL service is not listening on 127.0.0.1 TCP. If it is actually running at all, it may be that it is on a local socket but not TCP. Does mysql:localhost;dbname=AppDatabase make a difference? –Michael Berkowski Apr 1 '15 at 18:14 ... or was the "no such file or directory" happening with localhost? If that was the case, either the socket path was incorrect in php.ini, or MySQL is not running at all. –Michael Berkowski Apr 1 '15 at 18:15 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up
