(as well as numerous other noted below) are caused by MySQL table corruption. Table corruption can be caused by a variety of events, and will make some or all of https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/133 a table unavailable. Table corruption can also significantly decrease the performance of queries on effected tables. Table corruption can be be repaired by using the the REPAIR TABLE command. For more information about the REPAIR mysql error TABLE command see: MySQL 4.0, 4.1 http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/repair-table.html MySQL5.0 http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/repair-table.html Run REPAIR TABLE on an affected table Enter phpMyAdmin for the database you want to use. For more information, see Log in to phpMyAdmin. Click on the table name of the affected table. If phpMyAdmin is unable to display the table information, or encounters errors loading the table details page, another option would be to use the SQL button at the top mysql error code of the left frame to enter your own query. You can repair the table manually by issuing the command REPAIR TABLE in this SQL window. Click on the Operations tab at the top of the right panel. Click Repair table at the bottom of the right panel. This command can take some time and will block some queries, such as inserts, to the table. WARNING:It is possible that the phpMyAdmin Web server will time out waiting for a response from this command. If this happens, do not issue it again. Use the processlist feature, and you'll likely see the REPAIR command still running. Wait for it to complete. On large tables, this can take hours. Some other errors that may be caused by table corruption include: Can't find file table.MYI. Duplicate unique key or constraint on write or update. Got error ERR from table handler. (ERR being a number). Index file is crashed / Wrong file format. No more room in index file. No more room in record file. Old database file. Record file is crashed. Record was already deleted (or record file crashed). table.frm is locked against change. Table is crashed and last repair failed. Tables was marked as crashed and should be repaired. Unexpected end of file.

I did a few tests and had same results as you. Till - was the database upgraded and causes this error? Can you help fix it? Tyler comment:4 Changed 9 years ago by tmitchell Looks like the problem might be solved by repair the 'searchindex' table: Login to mysql command prompt REPAIR TABLE searchindex Till is looking into it but repair may be delayed until their admin returns next week. comment:5 Changed 9 years ago by dpatton Priority changed from normal to critical Summary changed from MySQL error when trying to update wiki.osgeo.org to MySQL error when trying to update wiki.osgeo.org, or upload files This problem needs to be fixed ASAP: 1) Some of the wiki pages are critical infrastructure for the FOSS4G2007 conference. In particular, the Information for Instructors wiki page: http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/FOSS4G2007_Information_for_Instructors The problem with this error is that we have told all the Instructors that they must edit that wiki page, and having them encounter an error when doing so reflects poorly on OSgeo and FOSS4G2007. 2) It appears that the error is either preventing file uploads, or masking relevant error messages relating to failed file uploads. I'm trying to upload PDF floor plans for the FOSS4G2007 conference centre, and encountering an error: after ignoring the bogus message "It is recommended that images not exceed 153600 bytes in size, this file is 387555 bytes"(my upload is a PDF file, not an image) I
