Error Loading general error: 2006 mysql server has gone away Modules MySQL server has gone away Thu Aug 23, 2012, 4:28 pm I mysql server has gone away php am running version 3.1 RC5.5 under Joomla version 1.5.21 on my own internal host. When going to Components -> ChronoForms -> Forms mysql server has gone away python Management, it pauses for a long time and then gives me the error:"Error Loading Modules MySQL server has gone away SQL=SELECT id, title, module, position, content, showtitle, control, params FROM jos_modules AS m LEFT http://joomla.stackexchange.com/questions/933/error-loading-module-mysql-server-has-gone-away JOIN jos_modules_menu AS mm ON mm.moduleid = m.id WHERE m.published = 1 AND m.access <= 2 AND m.client_id = 1 ORDER BY position, ordering"at the top of the page in red. The rest of the page then loads, but it looks like other buttons and controls are possibly missing on the page. This also happens when I try to Validate the installation of ChronosForms, which I see there is http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/f2/t86331.html a Subscription Key Code entered, but the validation fails. If I run this SQL code directly in phphMySQL, it executes without error taking 0.0001 seconds.I don't know how long this has been broken, but I know the root mySQL password was changed a while back, and I was wondering if that had anything to do with it, so I changed the root password back to what I thought it was before, but Chronos still throws this error. The site was built by someone else, and they are no longer available for consult, so I am trying to take over administering it, but I have little experience with Joomla. I was thinking of just uninstalling and reinstalling ChronosForms, but I don't know how, and I want to be able to keep the current email form intact.Any suggestions?

It's not something that typically links to a recurring problem.A couple of things to try:a) temporarily turn on Site Debug in the Joomla! Global Configuration. Upon request by the user, the model loads a bunch of data from the DB, which is OK, there is no timeout, the request takes a few seconds and there is no more query sent to the database afterwards. Based on the data received, a processing is done to generate PDF files and the list of PDF mysql server has files generated is retuned to the view to be displayed in the layout. Everything seems to work fine and processing completes correctly but, probably due to the long processing that is done in the model, the menu module is not loading and the following error is returned: MySQL server has gone away SQL: SELECT m.id, m.title, m.module, m.position, m.content, m.showtitle, m.params, mm.menuid FROM jos2_modules AS m LEFT JOIN jos2_modules_menu AS mm ON mm.moduleid = m.id LEFT JOIN jos2_extensions AS e ON e.element = m.module AND e.client_id = m.client_id WHERE m.published = 1 AND e.enabled = 1 AND (m.publish_up = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR m.publish_up <= '2013-10-31 15:42:00') AND (m.publish_down = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR m.publish_down >= '2013-10-31 15:42:00') AND m.access IN (1,1,2,3,4) AND m.client_id = 0 AND (mm.menuid = 101 OR mm.menuid <= 0) ORDER BY m.position, m.ordering Note that if I remove the PDF file processing, there is no error. I have no control on the time spent in this processing but maybe I'm not doing it in the right place. I also understand from previous posts that there are parameters in the MySQL configuration that can be tuned in MySQL ini files but this is not something I can do as the SQL server is hosted by my provider. Moreover, I'm not having access to

Anybody else seeing this? rackem, Jul 22, 2012 #1 rob Administrator Staff Member Level: Community Not recently no. This generally happens when a query takes too long to load Do you have J cache on? If so when you turn it off does the error occur each time the page is loaded? You could try increasing the MySQL timeout from from MySQL configuration file (usually in /etc/my.ini or /etc/mysql/my.ini) rob, Jul 24, 2012 #2 1 person likes this. rackem Well-Known Member Level: Standard Thanks for the reply Rob. I had J cache off. Not sure if it matters, but I had F! debug on for a while as we worked through some issues. Like I said, it is intermittent but happens enough to make me concerned.
