Hmmm, might this be a better way? ;) –nomistic May 5 '15 at 10:57 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote You can try using either MySQLi or PDO and their prepared statement to be more secure. If you intend using just MySQL then use the below code to initialize your Database connection. For reference see http://php.net/manual/en/function.mysql-connect.php Alternatively kindly use MySQLi For reference see http://php.net/manual/en/mysqli.construct.php

I http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33614089/google-cloud-sql-error-while-reading-greeting-packet am currently following the tutorial for Google App Engine here: https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/php/cloud-sql/ I can't seem to get my application to access the Cloud-SQL database on Google App Engine. I keep receiving this error below: Warning: PDO::__construct(): MySQL server has gone away in /base/data/home/apps/p~iconic-indexer-112318/1.388447661471940227/guestbook.php on line 24 Warning: PDO::__construct(): Error while reading greeting packet. I believe my application has access to the Cloud-SQL database. Aside from this I have no other Authorized App Engine Applications and even if I did try to add iconic-indexer-112318, it doesn't allow me to and notifies me "Could not complet

It's dead simple through FB assuming no hiccups. But I've been hiccupping for days now. I'm running the latest WAMP install with only one modification mentioned below (fresh install) on WinXPSP2. TO sum up, I have a very simple DB table set up, primary key + 4 other fields. I have a sample PHP service set up to talk communicate with MySQL and receive the table row data. However, whether I try to connect through FB, or just running a test.php which utilises the same PHP service, I get these errors from MySQL: **Warning: mysqli_connect() [function.mysqli-connect]: MySQL server has gone away in C:\wamp\www\PHPService\services\EmployeeService.php on line 33 Warning: mysqli_connect() [function.mysqli-connect]: Error while reading greeting packet.
