But failover is failing, because one of the nodes throws an error when it should start. When I manualy failover to test the cluster no such this error is thrown: The SQL Server (MSSQL) service terminated with the following error: No such host is known. This error is shown in the eventviewer. When this error occurs, the SQL service returns to its previous owner. Google didn't help me on this error, especialy the "no such host is known" is unknown on google. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 9:53 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Which hostname do you mean? In the cluster configuration? Tuesday, November 26, 2013 9:59 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote have you checked the configuration on the node when doing manual failover? Tuesday, November 26, 2013 10:00 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I have checked everything I can come up with. But that's abviously not enough, so that's why I'm asking you guys :) Do you have something inparticular I should check? Tuesday, November 26, 2013 10:06 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I recommend you run a full validation on your cluster Tuesday, November 26, 2013 10:40 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote It is a LIVE server. Can I do a full check without affecting the runningservices? Tuesday, November 26, 2013 10:49 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I don't think so because it's going to be failing the disks over, unless you exclude storage from the tests. Even then, I'm not 100% sure Tuesday, November 26, 2013 11:34 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Aren't there things I can check, because I cannot risk downtime right now. It looks like a failing DNS check given the error message. If I could just see what it what trying to query against the DNS server, that would help a lot. T
