I am following this tutorial and this one. when I run rvm install 1.9.3 I see this error: Installing Ruby from source to: /usr/share/ruby-rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3, this may take a while depending on your cpu(s)... ruby-1.9.3 - #fetching ruby-1.9.3 - #extracting ruby-1.9.3- to /usr/share/ruby-rvm/src/ruby-1.9.3 ERROR: Error running 'bunzip2 < '/usr/share/ruby-rvm/archives/ruby-1.9.3-.tar.bz2' | tar rvm for windows xf - -C /usr/share/ruby-rvm/tmp/rvm_src_4428', please read /usr/share/ruby-rvm/log/ruby-1.9.3/extract.log ERROR: There has been an error while trying to extract the source. Halting the installation. ERROR: There has been an error fetching the ruby interpreter. Halting the installation. How to fix it? EDIT: @ka8725 bunzip2 is installed. I use zsh with oh-my-zsh Ruby enVironment Manager member mpapis commented Dec 23, 2012 What version of RVM is it? did you checked the mentioned logs? You might have broken download archives from yesterdays github outage, try rvm cleanup archives. achikin commented Dec 23, 2012 I've updated rvm before that...nevermind - I've removed RVM completely and started from scratch. Now it can't find proper gcc : Building native extensions.
