someone can identify what I need to do to make the program compile.I'm using wxWidgets version 3.0.2, g++ 4.9.3, and Netbeans 8.1.I am following the steps on https://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Compiling_wx ... n_Netbeans.I installed MinGW (g++) into C:\MinGW, and wxWidgets into F:\wxWidgets.I compiled wxWidgets successfully.I am on the step "Test compiler in terminal." I opened a DOS cmd.exe shell, navigated to the folder where the source code resides, and tried to compile. See my output, below. The show-stopper is "g++: error: `wx-config: No such file or directory."Code: Select allMicrosoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

I have tries adding `wx-config --cppflags` (with backticks) to the "miscellaneous" compiler settings but it does not expand properly. The same for the linker. [message #1021653 is a reply to message #940092] Wed, 20 March 2013 13:10 A HoyleMessages: 22Registered: November 2010 Junior Member Hi I am having the same problem. So far I have found that it works if:- I set the GCC C++ Compiler / Command to g++ `wx-config --cxxflags` (with backticks) I add `wx-config --libs` -Wl,--rpath /usr/local/lib/ to the end of the linker miscellaneous option. I also move the link ${FLAG} to the end of the command line. For more detail see http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Compiling_and_getting_started This works if I use the external build (GNU Make Builder). But if I try to use the CDT internal builder I get a no such file error. Is there anyway to get the internal builder to pass the backtick options to the compiler without it trying to interpret them. I have tried wrapping it in quotes single and double but that doesn't seem to work. Is it possible, is this a bug? 13:02:37 **** Rebuild of configuration Debug for project LinuxSayHello **** Info: Internal Builder is used for build g++ `wx-config --cxxflags` -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-
and installed it. But when i try to compile a wxWidget application with g++, a bunch of errors shows up. It says it couldn't find wx/wx.h, and many other errors http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/unices/12285/ like undefined variables. I guess i need to do some setting up to get it up running, but i don't know what to do. I've searched the web and tried a couple of things but in vain. Hope someone can help me. Thanks. Jun 30, 2009 at 3:00pm UTC Disch (13766) You might need to make sure that g++ can fild the headers when it tries to compile (though no such if you installed the deb package I would've thought it would do that automatically?) Are you using any IDE? IDEs often have options where you can specify directories to look in for headers and libs and things. If you're not, then I haven't a clue. Jul 1, 2009 at 5:27am UTC closed account (S6k9GNh0) I actually haven't been able to code with wx. I don't think it's a bug no such file and it's probably something I'm doing wrong but my wx is placed under /usr/include/wx-2.8/wx/ which creates the problem of including headers. I could simply have it as an include directory which helps with version control on the library. Anyways, yours should be under /usr/include/wx-2.8/wx. To have the headers include themselves correctly, you have to use /usr/include/wx-2.8 as a search directory. Just add -I/usr/include/wx-2.8 and it should fix it...if you programmed and included correctly. Last edited on Jul 1, 2009 at 5:42am UTC Jul 1, 2009 at 7:49am UTC arun1390 (46) Hello computerquip. I tried the include option as you said but it did not work. I searched for the include folder just to reassure myself i had it, and i found 2 of them: /usr/local/include/wx-2.8/wx /usr/include/wx-2.8/wx Why are there two of them? The tutorial that i am following to get started with wxWidgets instructs to compile the files like below. I have included the errors that are resulting, if that might throw some light. 1
