Hi I am getting a problem with the g++compiler because I wrote a program in C++ that makes use of the stdafx.h library and when I try to compile the program it displays an error: test.cc:1:20: error: stdafx.h: No such file or directory How should I fix this? As far as I know, stdafx.h is a Microsoft Windows-specific header file. It does not exist on Linux or other operating systems. What does your code look like? Why does it need stdafx.h? Are you trying to compile a program written for Windows on Ubuntu? Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done build-essential is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. But the file still wont compile or run... no such file gcc -Wall -W -Werror factorial.cpp -o factorial. gives me: gcc -Wall -W -Werror factorial.cpp -o factorial. factorial.cpp:3:22: fatal error: iostream.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated This is my piece of code: //WAP to demonstrate static member for calculating factorial #include fine in MS VS 2010 in windows. But once I tried to run it in Linux, I got this error: fatal error: stdafx.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. Then I coppied stdafx.h file to the linux running directory and this issue was resolved; but a new error came: fatal error: stdafx.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. I got resolved this by similarly copying the stdafx.h to the Linux working directory. But another new error came: targetver.h:8:23: fatal error: SDKDDKVer.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. But this time, I was unable to resolve this by copying sdkddkver.h from the windows to Linux directory. Can somebody help me in resolving this? Thanks, Chami Mar 7, 2012 at 7:08am UTC modoran (2060) That file came only with Windows Sdk which can be downloaded from Microsoft website. You better remove any references to that file from your project, assuming your code does not contain anything windows specific. Topic archived. No new replies allowed.
