Now I am getting an error. I have recently been doing some .so builds and installed Clang not to long ago, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11912878/gcc-error-gcc-error-trying-to-exec-cc1-execvp-no-such-file-or-directory but have successfully compiled since both of those events, so not sure what has changed. On shell type:- whereis cc1 if cc1 is found then better go ahead and create a softlink in the directory of gcc otherwise it implies cc1 is not installed and you have to install gcc-c++ using package manager. share|improve thi

Well, you may be reading this because you started installing or compiling a package from source on your Fedora too, and the error message below; is what you see: gcc: error trying to exec 'cc1plus': execvp: No such file or directory error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 ---------------------------------------- Cleaning up... ANSWER: no such file You need g++ in order to go through this. On Fedora the package name is gcc-c++ Open Terminal as root user and run: # yum install gcc-c++ Re-run what you were doing and this error you pass. Enjoy!
