as HTML Hi all. I've been trying to install nagios-plugin (nagios-plugins-1.4.13) and nrpe (nrpe-2.12) to be able to monitor server (Debian 3.1) but when ./configure nrpe have this error: checking for SSL headers... configure error: Cannot find ssl headers On servers with Red Hat everything is ok, but on Debian I got the above error =( Do you know how can I solve this issue? Or the way to set up nagios-plugin and nrpe on Debian? Thanks in advance! Premios MTV 2008¡En exclusiva! Fotos, nominados, videos, y mucho más! While installing NRPE, when i execute (/home/abc/nrpe/configure) Code: ./configure it stops after reaching the following line Code: ... checking for type of socket size... size_t checking for SSL headers... SSL headers found in /usr checking for SSL libraries... configure: error: Cannot find ssl libraries I have installed libssl-dev and openssl package as i found them as a solution for this error. I tried the following option also Code: ./configure --with-ssl=/usr/bin/openssl --with-ssl-lib=/usr/lib But the error remains. What can be the possible solution for this ? I am using ubuntu 12.04 as my operating system. Thanks in advance. on October 24, 2012 by cyruslab I have encountered the following error while configuring the nrpe plugin: checking for SSL https://cyruslab.net/2012/10/24/nagios-nrpe-configure-error/ headers... SSL headers found in /usr checking for SSL libraries... configure: error: Cannot find ssl libraries I have found a solution from here. apt-file is not installed in Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS by default, install by using this command sudo apt-get install apt-file -y After apt-file is installed use no such apt-file update, use apt-file search libssl |grep libssl-dev you will see the following: cyruslab@Nachos:~/download/nrpe-2.13$ apt-file search libssl | grep libssl-dev libssl-dev: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.a libssl-dev: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.so libssl-dev: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/libssl.pc libssl-dev: /usr/share/doc/libssl-dev/changelog.Debian.gz libssl-dev: /usr/share/doc/libssl-dev/changelog.gz libssl-dev: /usr/share/doc/libssl-dev/copyright cyruslab@Nachos:~/download/nrpe-2.13$ Then configure the source code with --with-ssl-lib option, cyruslab@Nachos:~/download/nrpe-2.13$ ./configure --with-ssl-lib=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ The configuration should be successful no such file like below: checking for SSL headers...
