Your print driver should be a Post Script driver they offer the best support for PDF files.The issue your having is most likely due to the print driver. First step would be to replace your driver. Print the document again.If it does the same thing, then it could be caused by the actual PDF file your printing.Print other PDF documents does it do this with all PDF's?If so your Acrobat Software has an issue.
