great a time gap between receiving two portions of the same job. This error seems to have disappeared now that slower connections such as serial or parallel lines are no longer used. Solutions An obvious solution is to try

a different type of connection, if that is possible. If your printer is hooked up hp printer error timeout offending command timeout to a router, try connecting it directly to your computer. If it has multiple types of connections, try another one. Check error timeout 0x0005 out your driver settings - maybe a higher speed or different communication settings solve the issue. Using binary encoding is a typical example of this. Some systems expect a Control-D or Control-Z character at the end

of the print job to terminate it. Some drivers have an option to enable this. On some systems there are tools that allow you to change the timeout value of the RIP or printer. By making the device wait a little longer while receiving data, the PostScript error can be avoided. On some Lexmark printers for instance, adding the following to the beginning of the job: << /JobTimeout 0 >> setuserparams sets the

job timeout value for that job to 0 which means that it should not timeout regardless of how long it takes. Her is another example, taken from a manual for a Xante printer: "The Timeout feature allows you to select the number of seconds the printer waits for additional data before cancelling a job and returning to the READY/IDLE state. Set Timeout from the MISC:TIMEOUT configuration menu. The factory default of 40 seconds (40 Sec) is an average setting. Set timeout according to the type of files you send. Use a low setting for small, simple files to prevent an indefinite tie-up on one job. Use the 300 or Never setting for large files, such as graphic intensive or CAD (Computer Aided Design) files, to allow enough processing time. With the NEVER selection, the printer does not timeout; it waits until it receives additional data or until the printer is reset." If you are using Windows 3.XX and a parallel or serial connection to the RIP you should increase the timeout values for your RIP. Double-click on the Printers icon in the Windows Control Panel and select your RIP from the Installed Printers scroll list. Click Connect. The Connect dialog box is displayed. The Timeouts (seconds) area contains two fields: "Device Not Selected" and "Transmissio

This problem does not occur with offending command g2ubegin my Windows users, even when using PostScript drivers. I've already tried reinstalling the Oki drivers, running Oki's driver updater and using Repair Permissions on the OS disk in Disk Utility (for some reason the Yosemite upgrade messes up the printer library and the https://www.prepressure.com/postscript/troubleshooting/errors/timeout printers have the wrong permissions and group settings). While it's not such a big deal to remove the surplus sheets from the output tray, this error cumulatively wastes a lot of paper! Any advice would be much appreciated. After exhausting all the non-destructive solutions I'd already found online, including the one suggested by macfixer, a clean install of Yosemite fixed the problem. Thankfully this wasn't too intrusive for my user, as no user-created data was stored locally. Many thanks for your help. 1 Serrano OP raycaruso Dec 15, 2014 at 3:35 UTC Not the greatest solution, but unfortunately the Yosemite upgrade was a little buggy, seems to operate a little more smoothly after a clean install. 2 Pimiento OP magdalenamusia Nov 26, 2015 at 12:09 UTC 1st Post I have a same problem with my Mac - Yesemite and my OKI printer. a PostScript error Applies to : Illustrator InDesign PageMaker Photoshop PostScript printer drivers You can receive a PostScript error when sending a file to a PostScript interpreter (for example, https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-postscript-errors.html a printer, Acrobat Distiller). A PostScript error occurs when the PostScript interpreter can't https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21211397/Error-timeout-Offending-command-timeout.html read the file's PostScript code. An error can also occur if the file's PostScript code exceeds one or more of the limits in the PostScript page description language. If your PostScript interpreter appears to process data but then stops, a PostScript error could have occurred.A PostScript error message includes a offending command PostScript error type, which defines the type of error it is. It also includes an offending command, which usually indicates the specific part of the PostScript code that the interpreter couldn't read. The offending command usually indicates the command that caused the problem. Some PostScript errors point you right to the cause of the problem, and some get you looking in the right direction.Example error timeout offending of a PostScript error:%%[Error: ; OffendingCommand: ]%%For example, the PostScript error %%[Error: dictfull; OffendingCommand: def ]%% contains the PostScript error type "dictfull" and the offending command "def." The error type indicates that the dictionary contains the maximum number of entries. The offending command is the last command the PostScript interpreter tried to process, "def," which defines a new word in the dictionary. View or print a PostScript error message If you think a PostScript error has occurred, but it doesn't appear onscreen or in your printout, you can sometimes view or print the error message. Do one or more of the following:Use an error handler utility. For example, Adobe PageMaker has the Include PostScript Error Handler option in the Print Options dialog box.In Windows, configure the printer to print the error message:Note: In Windows NT, you cannot configure a printer to print an error message. The printer is shared. Computers run WinXP. I tried to install the printer through a share by using start--->run //IP.of.the.printer's.computer .... got some errors about drivers not correctly installed :( . I later chose fs-3750 drivers from the windows drivers list, 'cause there were no 3800 one .... the printers prints fine, but: if a document comes from the newly installed computer, about 2 minute later two more pages comes out. One is empty, another has "ERROR: timeout OFFENDING COMMAND: timeout STACK:" printed on it. It's not much, but still very annoying. Here's a guess. The printer is connected via its parallel port, and the print job is not terminated by a Ctrl-D character. Ctrl-D is the PostScript end-of-file when using parallel or serial interfaces, but is not needed for a network connected printer. If the printjob is not terminated, the printer eventually times out with an error. If the PostScript error handler is enabled, the printer then prints an error page. If this is the case, you can set the driver to send Ctrl-D at the end of the job. It could be under Properties, Device Settings or in PostScript Options under the Advanced button on Printing defaults - it depends on the driver, as well as on your version of Windows. Alternatively, you can disable the Error page in the same area of the driver. As the error page only happens after
