Only part of the file prints, the design part, not the text. Then the printer spits out another page with this message. ERROR: undefined, OFFENDING COMMAND: C> STACK: 234.752. This is an OKI C6150N, directly connected to PC via USB error typecheck offending command image port. This file was origianally on Artboard 2. Artboard 1 (similar design) printed fine, Artboard 2 had the error. I created a new file with one Artboard, retyped the text, copied the design. Still same error while printing. If I save it to a PDF file, it prints fine from Acrobat. I recently upgraded to CS4, then CS5. I have never had this issue before. I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 16656Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 5 replies 1. Re: Offending Command Stack error Mylenium Jun 6, 2010 10:39 AM (in response to katherinereece) This is not related to AI. These are printer errors with wrong PostScript being used. so in short: The printer driver is at fault here. If for whatever reason it cannot print vectors correctly natively, force it to print al ldata as bitmap.Mylenium Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Details This error only occurs with the Hewlitt Packard 4M printer. Other Hewlitt Packard printers (4ML, 4MV, or the 4M+) do not have this same issue. Issues with other HP printers should be resolved by following the instructions in document 331311 , "Troubleshoot printing problems (InDesign CS2)." When you print to a Hewlitt Packard 4M printer from InDesign or Illustrator, one or more of the following issues may occur: -- The application returns the error message above -- Nothing prints -- A single page of a multipage document does not print -- Spot colors drop out of the printed document. Solution: Convert your document to a PDF file, and then print from Adobe Acrobat. 1. Choose File > Export (InDesign) or File >Save As (Illustrator). 2. Specify a name and location for the file. 3. From the Format menu, choose Adobe PDF, and then click Save. 4. In the Export Adobe PDF dialog box, do one or more of the following: -- Choose a preset from the Adobe PDF Preset menu. -- Select a category from the list on the left of the dialog box, and then set custom options. -- Choose appropriate Standard and

of these temporary values on top of each other, a bit like the pile of paperwork you might have on your desk. When an error occurs, it is useful to know what is on that stack since it might give a programmer or support engineer an indication of what the interpreter was working on. That is why a PostScript error also contains a dump of the stack, as shown below: ERROR: undefinedresult OFFENDING COMMAND: itransform STACK: 2380.1 3366.1 In the above case the stack contains two numbers but it could just as well be PostScript commands. A PostScript error with offending command stack does not really exist. For some reason the offending command is simply not listed. Troubleshooting an error without knowing which command caused it, can be difficult. The error may be caused by a communication issue. There are fortunately specific cases for which a fix is available: Issues with the HP 4550 and blank pages Every time a Windows machine prints to our HP 4550dn, it also prints two additional pages, one is blank, the second has the following PS error: "ERROR: undefined OFFENDING COMMAND: STACK:" It never lists the offending command or stack. This happens when you print binary jobs. The same issue is discussed in this thread. Either change the printer driver postscript settings to ASCII or, if you want binary for smaller print jobs when printing over the TCP/IP network to the Jetdirect's LPR BINPS queue, do then the following: When you print into a file (hint: change Port to File: ), you will see at the end of the print job something like %%EOF [emailprotected] EOJ %-12345X The cause is HP's adding to the PPD an for BINPS LPR an unnecessary TBCP switch. Here's the fragment in the PPD: *% ================================= *% Emulations and Protocols *% ================================= *Protocols: PJL TBCP *JCLBegin: "" *JCLToPSInterpreter: "@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE = POSTSCRIPT <0A>" *JCLEnd: "<1B>[emailprotected] EOJ <0A><1B>%-12345X" I changed the line above into *JCLEnd: "" and now I can create and print binary postscript in Windows 7 x64. Just change the ppd file and delete the bpd one. You might have to reinstall the driver. Verify the output by printing into a file. The print processor is not relevant. It works with WinPrint or hpcpp118 from the H
