mewise1 cshow problems in Distiller 9.1 Erik Terkelsen Aug 28, 2009 6:13 AM Hi all,I'm having these nasty PostScript-problem which I can't seem to find a solution for. Out of all the files for three major newspaper https://www.prepressure.com/postscript/troubleshooting/errors being distilled every day I get the following postscript-error on 1-3 files every day:NewspaperAds_1v3(1).joboptions%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: cshow ]%%Stack:0.0{--pop-- --pop-- ct_str1 --exch-- 0 --exch-- --put-- ct_str1 --show--{_ct_na _ct_i --get--} --stopped-- {--pop-- --pop--} {_ct_x _ct_y

If I open the same PS-files in Apple Preview they open fine with https://forums.adobe.com/thread/484039 all fonts embedded as subset.I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with fonts, but can anybody point me in the right direction?Actually I have 8 files that all fail on a Windows 2008 Server running Distiller 9.1. I I run the same files through Distiller 9.1 on another computer running Distiller 9.1 under Windows XP (using the same settings), 5 out of these 8 files are OK. Same thing happens if I run the files through Distiller 9.1 on Mac OS 10.5.6-- RegardsErik Terkelsen I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 15280Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Re: cshow problems in Distiller 9.1 Erik Terkelsen Aug 28, 2009 6:23 AM (in response to Dov Isaacs) These are 8 new files different from the ones I send to you Dov, and I can still reproduce the problem on three different computers with three different operating systems. I will of course be willing to share some of the files with anybo
and turn it into a PDF, did you have the following errors occur? [ %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% XF096CBBC not found, using Courier. %%[ Error: `; OffendingCommand: xshow; ErrorInfo: CharOffsets e ????¤e fonts/Courier ]%% Stack: [46 92 48 48 76 0] ( ) %%[ Flushing: rest http://blog.baroan.com/2012/02/adobe-distiller-error-offendingcommand.html of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %% ] According to this article from the Adobe Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/510096, the errors occurred because the document in question was created http://cshow2.rssing.com/chan-17159998/all_p2.html on a system using either Windows XP or Windows Vista. If you were using Windows 7 to create a PDF of your document and the process crashed, that is because Microsoft changed the inner workings of this particular font offending command and all the issues stemmed from that. The solution to this issue is telling Adobe Distiller not to 'Rely on System Fonts only' do not use document fonts.' By doing this, Distiller disregards any of your own fonts and instead works with the fonts contained in the document. The following is a similar error that may occur: %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% %%[Page: 1]%% %%[Page: 2]%% %%[Page: 3]%% %%[Page: 4]%% %%[Page: 5]%% %%[Page: 6]%% %%[Page: 7]%% Cambria not error typecheck offending found, using Courier. %%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: xshow ]%% Stack: [85 0] ( ) %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %% This error can be resolved by changing one of the Adobe PDF printer settings. When you are in the print dialog, and you have selected the appropriate PDF printer, select "Properties." In the dialog box, there should be a tab titled "Adobe PDF Settings," and it should look like the below image. Un-check "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." This solves the issue for documents created using XP or Vista, then upgraded to Windows 7. The Cambria font somehow gets changed between XP/Vista and Win7. This post will be updated if our help desk finds a situation where this "fix" does not work. Whereas if I combine all the post script files using the "Combine" functionality available when you right click on the .ps files, then the report is getting generated properly.ReplyDeleteAnonymousMay 30, 2012 at 10:42 PMThank
