I'm not able to open any Word documents with the docx extension. Same goes for Excel and other Office 2007 applications. I know I should actually look at the OpenOffice website, but thought that any of you guys might have a work-around. Office 2003 stuff opens fine. When trying to open a .docx document OpenOffice presents me with a "Filter Selection" box with all different formats to choose from. No other office software including older versions of Word will be able to use it. I've had friends burned by this one numerous times (one friend had his job search delayed 3 months because recruiters couldn't open his resume so they just tossed it aside
windows office 2007 enterprise portable edition does not open. It gives an error of not enough memory. I have 2g memory with 28g open on the hard drive. Any suggestions? The most common fix for this seems to be renaming the normal template file (NORMAL.DOT) so that Word regenerates it from defaults when it starts.
