Hi If you click Start > Right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management you'll see that it has 4 primary partitions so the MBR allocation (4) is used up...you have to make one of those drives Logical in order to make an extended partition which you can split. The first partition (System) is the active boot partition not C. I'm sure one of the guys more experienced with W7 will give you the way to proceed. Before you do anything make your HP Recovery disks and image the whole drive so you got insurance if it messes up. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....p-utility/ Tony Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top Topic Closed This topic has been closed to new replies. This prompt occurs because you already have four primary partitions. You'll need to convert one to Logical which can be sub-divided into as many other partitions as there are remaining drive letters. Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD. Free Download Magic Partition Manager Software - Partition Wizard Online You do not want to convert to Logical your System Reserved, Win7, or Recovery partitions.
