Here are the exact steps I followed: Installed Windows 7 on a clean drive - Windows created a 100MB system partition, then I created a 350MB partition for the O/S, and I left 125GB unallocated. After first reboot of Windows XP setup, http://superuser.com/questions/92058/error-loading-operating-system-after-installing-windows-xp-on-separate-partiti I get "Error loading operating system". I attempted to fix the problem using the "Startup Repair" tool on the Windows 7 installation DVD, and although it found a "master boot record corruption" and fixed it, I still get the same error after rebooting. windows-7 windows boot share|improve this question asked Oct 15 '09 at 6:50 gdenning 12815 migrated from serverfault.com Jan 6 '10 at 10:13 This question came from our site for system and network administrators. add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Windows 7 would have to be the last OS installed.
