There are other parts of the script (not shown) that create and copy folder contents using the same source and destination directories, and they work perfectly. It's only when I use CopyFile that it http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16071679/permission-denied-on-copyfile-in-vbs fails. dim fso set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") if not fso.FileExists("H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\options.txt") then fso.CopyFile "C:\Minecraft\options.txt", "H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\" end if set fso = nothing H: is a network home directory, to which the current user has full read/write privs. I've tried adding/removing trailing slashes from the paths, adding "options.txt" to the destination path, removing the false argument... Not sure what else to try. Any thoughts? Thanks! FYI, this chunk of code, which comes immediately before the error-prone bit above, executes perfectly every time: if not fso.FolderExists("H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\bin\") then if not fso.FolderExists("H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\") then fso.CreateFolder("H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\") end if fso.GetFolder("C:\Minecraft\bin\").Copy "H:\Minecraft\.minecraft\" end if vbscript permission-denied copyfile share|improve this question edited Apr 18 '13 at 16:36 asked Apr 17 '13 at 22:56 Triz 3022619 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 39 down vote accepted I've only seen CopyFile fail with a permission denied error in one of these 3 scenarios: An actual permission problem with either source or destination. Destination path is a folder, but does not have a trailing backslash. Source file is locked by an application. share|improve this answer answered Apr 18 '13 at 16:48 Ansgar Wiechers 84.4k1160100 So it's definitely not #2, it's probably not #3... Permissions on destination are fine, sinc

Solved Permission Denied error 70 when using filecopy Posted on 2011-03-19 MS Access 1 Verified permission denied Solution 6 Comments 1,139 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-11 I have a split database and wish to make a copy of the data back-end via code. To do this, I have a button on a form which calls the copy routine. One of the first actions in the code is to close the form which called the routine to ensure any remaining runtime error 70 unwritten data is written to the database. When I step through the code using F8 the routine works perfectly. When I run the code from the button on the form, I get an Error 70 Permission Denied error on the FileCopy line. I suspect that the backend database is still locked. but I don't know how I can get around this problem. I've tried putting in a loop that continues to try the filecopy routine until the Error 70 doesn't occur. However, this doesn't seem to work as the routine gets trapped in the loop. Is there a way to test if the Error 70 will occur before attempting it? Maybe testing to see if the back-end database is still locked? Here's the code: ============= Sub CreateBackUp() On Error GoTo ErrTrap 'close any open forms and present the backup dialog DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmContacts" 'grab the current backend name to rename the copy when its made Dim myLinkedName myLinkedName = CurrentDb.TableDefs("tblContacts").Connect myLinkedName = Right(myLinkedName, Len(myLinkedN
