known issues with Java 7, as per this post. This can also be caused by any anti-virus or firewall software installed on the server. Resolution Use the -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true JVM system property to help enable support for IPv4 on Java 7. Check that anti-virus and firewall software on the server is not blocking Stash's ability to connect to the mail server. Was this helpful? Yes No Thanks for your feedback! Why was this unhelpful? Java.net.socketexception Permission Denied Port 80
Iron Miner Join Date: 9/5/2011 Posts: 552 Member Details I had a problem that whenever Minecraft would try to fetch news/go to a server, it would say this error: Internal Client Error: https://confluence.atlassian.com/stashkb/mail-server-connection-failed-with-java-net-socketexception-permission-denied-connect-exception-364609886.html java.net.SocketException: Permission Denied Connect Now, here's the solution (if you run Windows 7) Click on this link: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp#win Click on the 64-Bit Java link for Windows, and you'll install it. This will revert you to the newest stable java (which is Java 6 Update 29) but will fix your problem. Here is the error: Internal Client Error: java.net.SocketException: Permission Denied: connect When the problems started happening, these changes happened: 1. I updated to Java 7 2. My firewall settings might have been changed. I have no idea what's causing this, and I've already tried updating to a fresh .jar (from a backup when 1.0.0 came out), and adding the java.exe in Program Files and System32 into my Firewall (along with minecraft.exe), but nothing has worked. Also, when I tried force updating, it didn't work, and gave a similar "Internal Client Error: java.net..." etc. If anyone knows what's wrong please help! Thanks, scyp10 Add javaw.exe to the allowed applications in your firewall, that is what Minecraft uses. I am running a simple java client/server app, on port 6464, and i am using java 1.6.0_32 (after reading that Java 1.7.0_7 adds ipv6 support). I have port 80 forwarded to my server (verified on the client machine by going to my external IP in a browser), and the port 6464 is open also. Why would the client be refused connection? EDIT: I did originally get this error when trying to connect to the server from the server itself. (Obviously, I guess it's like a telephone in that you get an engaged tone). I had a friend test it, and he could connect. I'm now connecting from a laptop that isn't on the LAN (i.e. using a 3g mobile as a hotspot), but strangely still getting the error.
