I’ve used MySQL for the whole project but after loading up the project on another server I’m getting the error message: “[SqlException (0x80131904): CREATE DATABASE permission http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35898610/create-database-permission-denied-in-database-master-error-despite-using-mysql denied in database 'master'.” which seems to be an MS SQL error, even though I'm not even using it! When I deploy my project locally as an IIS site, it works absolutely fine. There’s no MS SQL connection string in my web.config, I’ve open every individual file in my project to see if there’s anything references MS SQL, but to no avail (it's safe to say it's driving my crazy). Has anyone had this issue before? Is there perhaps some sort of remnants in an empty MVC 4 Web Application that I should look for? mysql sql-server asp.net-mvc visual-studio-2012 share|improve this question edited Mar 9 at 17:48 asked Mar 9 at 17:32 mmmoustache 89531640 "There’s no SQL connection string in my web.config"??? Do you use the Windows admin login or the SQL Server admin? If the former, it doesn't neccessarily mean that the Windows admin is a SQL Server admin automatically. Can you try it using the sa account? –Lmu92 Aug 31 '14 at 7:45 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted You can assign sysadmin role to this user, but if you do not want to make this user sysadmin you can assign this user a dbcreator role which will give this role enough permission to create a database on this server.
