When you http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/270093-32-external-hard-drive-cyclic-redundancy-error are activeliy using a HDD, or manipulating files on it when you abruptly lose power, you may have corrupted the open file, or the file structure or partition of the HDD. To evaluate the HDD health, go to DiskMgmt and in the lower graphical section, list what it says in the Drive Status box, and in the Volume Status box just to the right. This will be your external removable HDD, listed possibly Disk1, or Disk 2 or 3 depending on how many fixed disks are on your Win-7 computer. Normally it should say Disk ?2, Basic, size_in_MB, Online. If it's a problem with the Disk organization, list those findings for us. which need urgent investigation. The error will also almost certainly arise if you try to copy the file using Windows Explorer. This article has more details.Note that the error may be on either source/left or destination/right, unless either http://support.2brightsparks.com/knowledgebase/articles/215714-23-data-error-cyclic-redundancy-check of these is a non-Windows resource such as FTP, in which case it will be on the 'other side', as it is not possible for a non-Windows resource to return a Windows error message - ipso facto, the error http://www.m3datarecovery.com/raw-drive-recovery/drive-not-accessible-cyclic-redundancy-check.html is coming from the side where Windows is 'involved'.It isquite possible you also see the Windows error 1392: "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" in such circumstances. The reasons will be much the same - disk redundancy check or folder\file corruption.
