buggin' you about it Quite some time ago I encountered this error the first time, script error fix windows 10 to be honest i can not even remember when it was. But I do know it was Windows 7 and Internet Explorer fully script error message won't go away updated, together with the current Java runtime environment that gave me the problem, but I am getting ahead of myself. Problem description: Using Internet Explorer, Windows 7 and Java Runtime Environment - all updated to latest editions https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308260 on completely clean installations On all webpages loading Java the following error message appears twice (x2, two times, 2 times). Title: "Microsoft JScript compilation er...". Error message: "Syntax error". Extra bonus information: I have experienced this problem on Windows 7 with and without service packs, Internet Explorer 8 and 9 Usually the problem appears from "birth" with default settings Settings in Internet Explorer for showing errors, debugging scripts, etc. are all set to default i.e. not to https://www.sole.dk/how-to-get-rid-of-the-anoying-syntax-error-popup-message-when-using-internet-explorer-with-java-so-your-mother-in-law-will-stop-buggin-you-about-it/ anoy the user The error always comes two times and has absolutely no usefull information The Java application works fine without any errors, the only error is the actual message about the error and yes it is realy anoying So to continue... I trawled thru endless suggestions for how to fix this problem the first time I had the problem and I believe I was at page 3 in Google before I found something that finally worked. The solution is incredibly simple and apparently seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the problem or Java. But what realy anoyed me was that I later had this problem on my new IBM laptop, with everything completely fresh installed, and I could not remember the fix! and again it took me forever to find the solution. So this time I am writing a blog about it, so I can find the solution next time I forget it. I also assume the problem comes due to Java trying to use this setting but fails - I have no idea who has the actual problem, Windows, IE or Java, but it puzzles me the problem still exists this long after I first saw it. Solution: In Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings Clear the checkbox in "Automatically detect settings" Thats it! Posted in Bugs and Fixes, Microsof
unless you are a web developer, you just don't care about these messages and don't want them to appear. Turning them off won't hurt the operation of any program, so here is how to turn off https://www.webbie.org.uk/scriptingErrors.htm scripting error messages in Internet Explorer. These messages say things like "Errors on http://www.ehow.com/how_7907543_fix-invalid this webpage might cause it to work incorrectly." The first thing to try is turning off these messages in Internet Explorer: Open Internet Explorer Open the Tools menu (Alt and T) Select the Internet Options item (O key) The Internet Options dialog has many tabs. You need the Advanced tab. Press Control and Tab until script error you get to the Advanced Tab (that's six presses for Internet Explorer 8) You should now be in a list, starting with Accessibility as the first item in Internet Explorer 8. This has the scripting options you want to change. Cursor down to "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and press Space until it is on. Cursor down to "Disable script debugging (Other)" and press Space until it is on. how to fix Cursor down to "Display a notification about every script error" and press Space until it is off. Press the Return key to close the Internet Options dialog. You should now have turned off the scripting errors. Not worked? Here are some other things you can try: Update Internet Explorer. You should be on the latest Internet Explorer, it's safer and better. You can get it from Windows Update. Start Internet Explorer, Alt and T for the Tools menu, then cursor down to Windows Update. Change your antivirus program. These cause no end of trouble. Set your Internet Explorer Security settings to Default. You do this again in the Internet Explorer Tools menu, Internet Options, Security tab, and click Default Level. Delete your Internet Explorer temporary files and cookies and history. Internet Options, General tab. This will mean you'll have to re-enter your username and password in places where you've saved it, so make sure you know them all before you try this. Still no good? There are two a Microsoft Support Knowledgebase Articles, How to troubleshoot script errors in Internet Explorer on Windows-based computers from which I've taken some of the above, and Fix runtime errors in Internet Explorer, which have more suggestions and approaches.
ProductsHomearound the homeproductivityHow to Fix Syntax ErrorsHow to Fix Syntax ErrorsBy Dan StoneFixing syntax errors is essential in computer programming: the program will not work until the errors are corrected. Syntax errors mean the program can't understand commands based on the programming language's rules. In programming, syntax refers to proper command arrangement (like rules of grammar) and spelling. Programmers can resolve syntax errors with the help of Interactive Development Environment debug tools and manual code-checking best practices.Misplaced and Missing PunctuationPunctuation symbols tell the system where commands end, how code is grouped together and how to call different parts of the code. IDE debugging efficiently catches misplaced and missing punctuation errors. While different programming languages have a wide-range of different punctuation uses, there are general rules to guide you. For example, ending a line of code with a colon instead of a semicolon in the C++ programming language is an incorrect character and causes a syntax error.Containing Commands with PunctuationLanguages like Java and JavaScript use parentheses and brackets to explain how code fits together. The program will not be able to understand the command if all parentheses and brackets don't feature matching opening and closing characters. Quotation marks can also cause problems when incorrectly used or missing. For example, if you're using a quotation mark within a text string designated by quotation marks, you need to use an escape sequence on the internal quotation mark or else the program will end the string at an incorrect point. While the IDE may identify what line of code has the syntax error, the programmer can use single-step tracing to look at where each enclosure begins and ends to locate the error.Out-of-Date CodeProgramming languages can be updated to new standards -- which includes removing existing commands. If you're running older code against
