Hello there, I've been getting a sync error for weeks (-54) and have no idea how to solve it. This popped up suddenly. I had never before had https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7329712?start=0&tstart=0 this problem. It happens when I sync my iPhone via iTunes on a MacBookPro. The message is 'Attempting to copy the disk ....failed. An unknown error occurred (-54)'. And the syncing keeps winding. I have iTunes in an external disk, and sync it via USB (cable, not wifi). Good to know: I am using the latest versions of everything: iOS 9.1, iTunes 12.3.1.23, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Thanks for your help. y MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), Time Machine Posted on script error Nov 9, 2015 3:13 AM I have this question too Close Q: iTunes error -54...help! Cohen, (Belated) Thanks for your email. I still keep getting error -54 when syncing my iPhone to the MBP on iTunes, after doing everything that's recommended. I followed the Apple Support links (consolidate library), reset the Music folder (or Media), restarted iTunes - nada. Error -54 keeps popping up. What's odd is that the syncing is working (music files are synced to the Media folder) but the 'sync' button on iTunes is dimmed (ie. not active). The syncing keeps rolling and rolling (winding), as if it couldn't complete the process. I hope the problem will solve itself...magically.
