Running Windows XP home. My ISP is PeoplePC dial-up. I connect at only 26.4 Kbps with the bottleneck being my phone line. High speed is not available where I live. I have several user accounts on Windows XP. MY user account (the main/administrator account) has no problems (except that I get two IE Script Error messages when an error has the PeoplePC screen opens). However, my kids' user account has for the past year refused to open the PeoplePC window. Additionally, the kids' user account has problems with IE. As a general rule, we all use Mozilla Firefox as our web browser, but sometimes the kids need to use the IE browser. When using the kids' user account, the PeoplePC dial-up window opens just fine. PeoplePC will connect at 26.4 Kbps, but when the main PeoplePC window attempts to load, there is a failure to connect error screen. The computer is connected to the Internet, and Mozilla Firefox will work just fine. However, if the IE browser is opened, it also displays the failure to connect screen. Oddly enough, the only IE webpage that will open is the Google/Gmail home page. Every other webpage refuses to open, showing the failure to open screen. Again, this problem is not present with my main user account. I have run Adaware and Spybot. My antivirus is F-Prot. I have cleaned everything I can find. I am not sure this is a spyware or virus problem, but I thought I would start here with my HJT log. At one time, I was pretty good at troubleshooting these problems, but this one has me stumped. I ran HJT in the kids' user account with an IE screen open. Any suggestions???????????? Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 11:25:09 PM, on 9/11/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP
