You said you're trying to do this without jQuery, are you sure the DOM is ready before executing the code? –Teemu Jun 18 '13 at 13:45 set a break point, walk through the

Everything on the site works perfectly, so I don't want to spend the time troubleshooting the exact error. All I would like to do is suppress the "Done, but with errors on page" message so that clients don't freak out. I tried the following at the top of the page with no success: window.onerror = function() {return true;} javascript jquery internet-explorer error-handling share|improve this question an error has edited May 12 '10 at 20:09 abatishchev 57.1k56214353 asked May 12 '10 at 20:07 draenen 492411 22 Fix the error.. –Juliano May 12 '10 at 20:09 4 "Everything on the site works perfectly" -- uhh, no, it doesn't. –Pointy May 12 '10 at 20:10 2 Fix the error. -- –Pekka 웃 May 12 '10 at 20:10 1 Does it work in Firefox? –SLaks May 12 '10 at 20:14 1 @Juliano - good advice, but this is often unavoidable. For instance when using a third-party service that requires javascript (google analytics, omniture, what-have-you) –Eric Petroelje May 12 '10 at 20:16 | show 5 more comments 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote accepted You can't stop the browser from telling users that there's errors on the page. That would be a security hole, and you don't really have the right to. You have no choice but to try to fix it or have users see the message. Does this mean you should try and fix the error? Well, seeing as you can't suppress it, and you are correct in thinking that users won't enjoy the message, and that there are tons of excellent debugging tools available, there's really no reason not to. Heed the warnings your tools give you, I've heard on the streets that the people who wrote them were p
page is incorrect. Unfortunately, there are several possible causes. by Leo A. Notenboom, © 2011 On some websites, occasionally including my online bank sites, the IRS, etc. etc., I sometimes get the message "Error on page," and the links don't work. What causes this message to appear and is there anything I can do to avoid it? I assume that the problem is with the site and not my computer, which makes me think I can't do much, but I thought I'd ask. It's very inconvenient. I use Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8. • Taken quite literally, "Error on page" means exactly that: there's an error of some sort on the web page that is being displayed in your browser. There are three common reasons why this message can appear. With two, you can try to do something about, but with the other, you can't. • Reason One: It's The Website's Fault Web pages are written in what boils down to one or more programming languages.† HTML - HyperText Markup Language - is the fundamental language used to code web pages. It defines things like paragraphs, bold, italics and other characteristics of page layout. Javascript, while separate and distinct from HTML, is another programming language that is often used within web pages to add interactive functionality. If you've used Google Docs, for example, you've seen a word processor or a spreadsheet program implemented primarily in Javascript. Java, which is unrelated to Javascript, is yet another programming language that can be used on web pages to create even richer applications that are available and run simply by visiting a web page. Like any programming language, it's possible for the humans writing the programs or pages to make mistakes. That's one source of "Error on page". Typically, the problem is in Javascript and the "Error on page" may indicate that there'
