Error: Unspecified error ... Please don't Say to Go to Tools -> I.Options -> Advanced ...turning off debugging etc etc.. I have tried all that and this popup dialog still comes up. Some forums suggested turning http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1113099/how-to-completely-disable-all-internet-explorer-script-error-dialogs off a service called: Machine Debug Manaager (MDM), the problem is that I cant find this service running on my windows version. Why? System Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Theres gotta be some way to completely turn off this dialog so that it doesnt come up. I dont mind deleting the entire registry to make this stop. thats how frustrated i am with it. FYI, I get this while running automated test using selenium rc on IE6. Hope this enough info. Since the Advanced dialog contains 3 different options which control script error dialogs, and you only mention one of them, what are we to conclude? –EricLaw Jul 11 '09 at 14:50 Added some clarifications on the instructions, as requested (see comments of my answer) –VonC Jul 12 '09 at 6:11 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote regarding M

Solved Group Policy Editor "Error:54 Unspecified Error" Posted on 2009-05-21 Windows Server 2003 Active Directory 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 2,606 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-07 Experts, I script error have a particularly vexing problem with the Group Policy Editor on our domain controller running Windows 2003 Server. When trying to edit a group policy object (any and all policies have this problem, making me think it's a systemic problem), I get the error message I've included in the screen shot below. An Internet Explorer Scripting Error box shows up with all fields blank, and another very script error windows cryptic "Error: 54 Unspecified Error" box shows up. Quite a few instances will launch in series each time a different item is selected for editing within the policy. As far as I can tell, there's nothing in the event logs to give me any clues (Granted, I don't know what I'm looking for), the error message itself is useless, and I'm not having much luck finding information on this problem. What's going on here and how do I fix it? server-errror.jpg 0 Question by:mthomas4 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 4 Best Solution bybarryhiggins3 o.k. dokey... I've done a bit of digging.... Try installing the Admin pack for your server onto a P.C. and and run an mmc, add the appropriate snap in and try edditing a policy from there. If it's Windows 2003 you are using you can get it here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?FamilyID=c16ae515-c8f4-47ef-a1e4-a8dcbacff8e3&displaylang=en If you find this works, update y
