Microsoft Windows 7 Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I am unable to print or print preview anything from IE8. I keep getting this script error: Line: 1517 Char: 1 Error: Invalid Argument Code: 0 URL: res//ieframe.dll/preview.js https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/313917-script-error-when-printing-from-ie-in-windows-7 If I click yes or no the error just closes out. I have tried resetting all IE settings, http://www.troubleshootwindows.com/internet-explorer/fix-script-error-in-internet-explorer-error-while-printing/ disabling all add-ons, uninstalling flash player and java, different printers, installing IE9, but nothing seems to work. When I uncheck the disable script debugging(Internet Explorer) in advanced settings and I try to print, the JScript Debugger finds this error: oRule.style.top = upTop + "in"; Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! If you're running 64, see if you're running the 'normal' IE8 or the 64-bit IE8. This may fix it. If that doesn't, you may have some corrupted dll files that script error windows you can fix by running an elevated command prompt then typing: sfc /scannow 1 Sonora OP JaredV Mar 15, 2013 at 4:33 UTC I'm running 32-bit. I ran the "sfc /scannow" command but that did not work. 0 Sonora OP Best Answer JA2112 Mar 15, 2013 at 4:35 UTC Though I haven't had a chance to use it yet, I've heard good things about "Complete Internet Repair", with regards to script errors---might be worth a try. http://download.cnet.com/Complete-Internet-Repair/3000-2094_4-75332305.html 0 Chipotle OP RedR0ze Mar 15, 2013 at 4:35 UTC Try running the 64-bit IE8 then try printing. Did the sfc /scannow prompt actually run, though? 0 Sonora OP JaredV Mar 15, 2013 at 4:41 UTC Yes, the sfc \sannow completed but did not fix the problem. 0 Jalapeno OP Tantely Mar 15, 2013 at 4:57 UTC This is very new to me. I had this issue with IE9 and outlook emails. My users cannot print emails if IE9 is installed so our workaround was to downgrade to IE8. We suspected some incompatibility with some of our software as we just recently started deploying win7 and new Microsoft Office tools. And this doesn't matter if it's win7 x64 or x86. I'm curious to know if there's any resolution out there for this. I would just recommend my users to get away from IE but we have sites and tools online that are only compatible with IE. 0 Cayenne OP Phil Adler Mar 15, 2013 at 5:44 UTC it is a pri
Explorer error while printing An article by shantanu 1 Comment After reading this post you should be able to fix an error generated in Internet Explorer while printing a page opened in Internet Explorer. The error might look like this, some lines may as well differ. An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line : XXXX Char: 1 Error : Invalid procedure call or argument. Code: 0 URL: res/ieframe.dll/preview.js. Note: Line no. could be anything. Disconnect your printer from the PC & re-connect it. Unplug the printer's USB cable from your PC. If you have a wireless printer just turn the printer off. Open Devices and Printers ( start menu –> devices and printers) Right-click your printers icon and select Remove device. Reconnect your printer to your PC using the USB cable or if you have a wireless printer turn the printer back on. Click on Add a printer and follow the Wizard to Add the printer. ( Select Local printer and let Windows find the printer automatically) If the above steps don’t help: Go to Start Menu within the search box type Internet Explorer Right Click the Internet Explorer Icon and click Run as Administrator If the above steps don’t help: Go to Windows update by typing Windows update in Start menu search box and clicking the Windows update button. There in the left pane click on check for updates Go to Optional Updates –> check if a updated driver for your printer is listed there. Alternatively you can, Go to your Printer Manufacturer’s support website Download and Install updated drivers from there.
