of installing an SSL certificate on a ZyXEL ZyWall USG 300 firewall (if even possible!) » How to get rid of the anoying syntax error popup message when using Internet Explorer with Java so script error chrome your mother-in-law will stop buggin' you about it Quite some time ago I encountered this script error message won't go away error the first time, to be honest i can not even remember when it was. But I do know it was script error message windows 10 Windows 7 and Internet Explorer fully updated, together with the current Java runtime environment that gave me the problem, but I am getting ahead of myself. Problem description: Using Internet Explorer, Windows 7 and Java Runtime https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308260 Environment - all updated to latest editions on completely clean installations On all webpages loading Java the following error message appears twice (x2, two times, 2 times). Title: "Microsoft JScript compilation er...". Error message: "Syntax error". Extra bonus information: I have experienced this problem on Windows 7 with and without service packs, Internet Explorer 8 and 9 Usually the problem appears from "birth" with default settings Settings in Internet Explorer for showing https://www.sole.dk/how-to-get-rid-of-the-anoying-syntax-error-popup-message-when-using-internet-explorer-with-java-so-your-mother-in-law-will-stop-buggin-you-about-it/ errors, debugging scripts, etc. are all set to default i.e. not to anoy the user The error always comes two times and has absolutely no usefull information The Java application works fine without any errors, the only error is the actual message about the error and yes it is realy anoying So to continue... I trawled thru endless suggestions for how to fix this problem the first time I had the problem and I believe I was at page 3 in Google before I found something that finally worked. The solution is incredibly simple and apparently seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the problem or Java. But what realy anoyed me was that I later had this problem on my new IBM laptop, with everything completely fresh installed, and I could not remember the fix! and again it took me forever to find the solution. So this time I am writing a blog about it, so I can find the solution next time I forget it. I also assume the problem comes due to Java trying to use this setting but fails - I have no idea who has the actual problem, Windows, IE or Java, but it puzzles me the problem still exists this long after I first saw it. Tags:script errorinternet explorer ansers4me April 6, 2014 at 01:23:21 Specs: Windows 7 Is this because I could have made some mistake? I'm working on how to get Silverlight working for Netflix and I can't get it to work. I typed some letters script error like inetcpl.cpl into the start menu a couple times and went through a process I found online but I got a warning that it could be damaging so I unchecked everything I did which wasn't much. I unchecked the protected mode in the Security section for a few minutes but checked it again. I clicked the SSL box and didn't click the apply button. I only clicked apply when it was all back to where it was before. script error windows After that, Internet Explorer kind of froze. Maybe I got misleading online instructions. I had to get Task Manager to close it because the mouse wasn't working in IE. I haven't seen the Script Error box for ages. Now its on every screen nearly and its frustrating. Can't get rid of it. Your suggestions would be very much appreciated. Not sure which category but had to choose something. Maybe there is a security problem..not sure. Report • ✔ Best Answer Derek April 6, 2014 at 19:04:40 Go to Control Panel > Internet Options then you can make the changes without IE being open or running.Look at the settings I gave in #4 and if they are OK do the Reset:Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button. You will not lose your Favorites, just add-ons and any customizations you might have made. The add-ons soon come back with usage (Flash etc will ask) or you can collect any important ones.As last resort uninstall IE from "Control Panel > Programs and features" which will revert you to a previous IE version (if there was one). You then download the latest IE11 from MS and install it.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks See in Thread ↓#1 phil22 April 6, 2014 at 03:25:20 Use a differ
