Internet Explorer Script Errors Comments By Rick Broida, PCWorld Oct 20, 2010 8:19 AM Every time reader Charles boots his PC, he sees an Internet Explorer https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308260 Script Error like this: It's not the same one each time, either. And to further confound the matter, Charles has configured Google Chrome as his default browser--so why is he seeing Internet Explorer errors?I won't spend a lot of time on the "why"--let's just chalk it up to the joy that is http://www.pcworld.com/article/208281/Solve_Internet_Explorer_Script_Errors.html Windows. Weird, inexplicable, annoying things like these just happen sometimes. As for fixing the problem, that may be easier than you think. You didn't tell me what version of Windows or IE you're using (always include that kind of information, people!), but I can deduce from the screenshots that it's IE7 or IE8 on Windows XP. So here's what you need to do:1. Start Internet Explorer.2. Click Tools, Internet Options.3. Click the Advanced tab, then scroll down to the Browsing section. 4. Check the boxes next to Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other).5. Clear the checkbox next to Display a notification about every script error.6. Click OK, then reboot. Those startup script errors should pester you no more. Do you wish to continue running scripts on this https://www.technibble.com/how-to-stop-internet-explorer-script-error-messages/ page?" Here are some tips to stop them: There are a few reasons https://www.windowsbbs.com/threads/internet-explorer-script-error-constantly-popping-up.100238/ why you are getting this Internet Explorer script error. The first is that the author of the webpage has simply made some sort of programming error and this is typically the most common reason. The next reason is that you are possibly running a pop-up killer of some kind which closes the pop-up script error too quickly which causes the script of the website to fail and thus giving you the error because it didnt complete. The third reason is that you have some sort of spyware or adware infection that tries to launch something such as a popup but causes script errors. How to stop the Internet explorer script error message from showing up: You can tell your script error windows Internet Explorer to ignore these errors when they occur and not show you an alert about them. Here is the procedure: Open Internet Explorer In the top menu, Click on Tools and then Internet Options Click on the Advanced Tab Find where it says "Disable Script Debugging" and tick the box beside it Now, Find where it says "Display a notification about every script error" and untick the box beside it. What to do when you get an Internet Explorer script error in Control Panel when opening User Accounts: You get a script error in Control Panel when clicking on User Accounts and see: Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script in this page. I had root kit on my computer late last year and after enlisting the help of people on this board my computer has never run faster. My current problem is related to a pop-up I keep getting. It always says "Internet Explorer Script Error" on the message bar at the top and then "An error has occurred in the script on this page." Then it proceeds to tell me the Line, Character, Error, Code, and URL regarding the specific error. The information on these lines is always different. Sometimes I get one and then I press "No" to stop running script on the page with no problem. Other times I get about 50 of the pop-ups in a row and it is incredibly annoying. The information on the "URL:" line leads me to believe the issue is related to the ads on some of the websites I go to are running a weird script that my computer doesn't like. I have a couple of screen shots and if I go to one of those sites where the ad constantly changes I'm sure it would produce more if that is something you need to see. I wasn't sure how to post the screen shots. I read something online about checking a box in "Internet Options" to "disable script debugging" but when I checked I realized that has always been checked. This issue popped up out of the blue on sites I always visit so I'm hoping it isn't a virus. If I need to run some checks I have all the software from the last time someone on here diagnosed my problem. Thanks.
