first time, to be honest i can not even remember when it was. But I do know it was Windows 7 and Internet Explorer fully updated, together with the current https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308260 Java runtime environment that gave me the problem, but I am getting ahead of myself. Problem description: Using Internet Explorer, Windows 7 and Java Runtime Environment - all updated to latest editions on completely clean installations On all webpages loading Java the following error message appears twice (x2, two times, 2 times). Title: "Microsoft JScript compilation er...". Extra bonus information: I have experienced this problem on Windows 7 with and without service packs, Internet Explorer 8 and 9 Usually the problem appears from "birth" with default settings Settings in Internet Explorer for showing errors, debugging scripts, etc. are all set to default i.e. not to anoy the user The error always comes two times and has absolutely no usefull information The Java application works fine without any errors, the only error is the actual message about the error and yes it is realy anoying So to continue... I trawled thru endless suggestions for how to fix this problem the first time I had the problem and I believe I was at page 3 in Google before I found something that finally worked. The solution is incredibly simple and apparently seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the problem or Java. But what realy anoyed me was that I later had this problem on my new IBM laptop, with everything completely fresh installed, and I could not remember the fix! and aga
ProductsHomearound the homeproductivityHow to Fix Syntax ErrorsHow to Fix Syntax ErrorsBy Dan StoneFixing syntax errors is essential in computer programming: the program will not work until the errors are corrected. Syntax errors mean the program can't understand commands based on the programming language's rules. In programming, syntax refers to proper command arrangement https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-fix-syntax-errors (like rules of grammar) and spelling. Programmers can resolve syntax errors with the help of Interactive Development Environment debug tools and manual code-checking best practices.Misplaced and Missing PunctuationPunctuation symbols tell the system where commands end, how code is grouped together and how to call different parts of the code. IDE debugging efficiently catches misplaced and missing punctuation errors. While different programming languages have script error a wide-range of different punctuation uses, there are general rules to guide you. For example, ending a line of code with a colon instead of a semicolon in the C++ programming language is an incorrect character and causes a syntax error.Containing Commands with PunctuationLanguages like Java and JavaScript use parentheses and brackets to explain how code fits together. The program will not be script error message able to understand the command if all parentheses and brackets don't feature matching opening and closing characters. Quotation marks can also cause problems when incorrectly used or missing. For example, if you're using a quotation mark within a text string designated by quotation marks, you need to use an escape sequence on the internal quotation mark or else the program will end the string at an incorrect point. While the IDE may identify what line of code has the syntax error, the programmer can use single-step tracing to look at where each enclosure begins and ends to locate the error.Out-of-Date CodeProgramming languages can be updated to new standards -- which includes removing existing commands. If you're running older code against a program using an updated code interpretation standard you may encounter syntax errors for antiquated commands. For example, prior to Internet Explorer 10 the browser could use JavaScript display effect commands called "DX Filters." If you run code that uses DX Filters on IE 9 the code will work, whereas if you run it on IE 10 it won't work. Use updated, supported programming techniques to replace out-o
