Tags:script errorinternet explorer ansers4me April 6, 2014 at 01:23:21 Specs: Windows 7 Is this because I could have made some mistake? I'm working on how to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308260 get Silverlight working for Netflix and I can't get it to work. I typed some letters like inetcpl.cpl into the start menu a couple times and went through a process I found online but I got a warning that it could be damaging so I unchecked everything I did which wasn't much. I unchecked the protected mode in the Security section for a few minutes but checked it again. http://www.computing.net/answers/security/why-does-script-error-keep-popping-up-in-internet-explorer/39641.html I clicked the SSL box and didn't click the apply button. I only clicked apply when it was all back to where it was before. After that, Internet Explorer kind of froze. Maybe I got misleading online instructions. I had to get Task Manager to close it because the mouse wasn't working in IE. I haven't seen the Script Error box for ages. Now its on every screen nearly and its frustrating. Can't get rid of it. Your suggestions would be very much appreciated. Not sure which category but had to choose something. Maybe there is a security problem..not sure. The add-ons soon come back with usage (Flash etc will ask) or you can collect any important ones.As last resort uninstall IE from "Control Panel > Prog

And to further script error confound the matter, Charles has configured Google Chrome as his default browser--so why is he seeing Internet Explorer errors?I won't spend a lot of time on the "why"--let's just chalk it up to the joy that is Windows. Weird, inexplicable, annoying things like these just happen sometimes. As for fixing the problem, that may be easier than you think. You didn't tell explorer script error me what version of Windows or IE you're using (always include that kind of information, people!), but I can deduce from the screenshots that it's IE7 or IE8 on Windows XP. So here's what you need to do:1. Start Internet Explorer.2. Click Tools, Internet Options.3. Click the Advanced tab, then scroll down to the Browsing section. 4. Check the boxes next to Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other).5. Clear the checkbox next to Display a notification about every script error.6. Click OK, then reboot. Those startup script errors should pester you no more. I had root kit on my computer late last year and after enlisting the help of people on this board my computer has never run faster. My current problem is related to a pop-up I keep getting. It always says "Internet Explorer Script Error" on the message bar at the top and then "An error has occurred in the script on this page." Then it proceeds to tell me the Line, Character, Error, Code, and URL regarding the specific error. The information on these lines is always different. The information on the "URL:" line leads me to believe the issue is related to the ads on some of the websites I go to are running a weird script that my computer doesn't like. I have a couple of screen shots and if I go to one of those sites where the ad constantly changes I'm sure it would produce more if that is something you need to see. I wasn't sure how to post the screen shots. I read something online about checking a box in "Internet Options" to "disable script debugging" but when I checked I realized that has always been checked. This issue popped up out of the b
