Solved: Cannot open services.msc Discussion in 'Windows XP' started by bluedwarf, Mar https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-cannot-open-services-msc.554421/ 24, 2007. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement bluedwarf Thread Starter Joined: Nov 13, 2002 Messages: 26 If I try to open services.msc (start/open etc) I get a popup dialog box headed "internet explorer script error" then inside the box it shows an exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle then "An error has occured in the script on this page" . Line (then nothing script error on this line) Char (then nothing on this line) error (then nothing on this line) code (then nothing on this line) Url (then nothing on this line) Then the question "do you want to continue running scripts on this page" The "yes" "no" buttons are clickable but do nothing and I cant close this dialog box by clicking the x in the red box (top right an error has corner) either!!! and so I cant open Services, I have to go to task manager and end the MMC process. This only happened recently (dunno if Internet explorer7 has to do with it as I use Firefox). How can I get rid of this Dialog box and get into "services.msc".
