The error window is titled Internet explorer script error. It then says that an error has occured in the scrpt on this page. At https://www.windowsbbs.com/threads/script-error-in-outlook-express.62992/ the bottom it asks if I want to continue to run scripts or not. It doesn't matter if I choose yes or no, the page will eventually show after clicking on a button. Any one know what the deal is? I am running XP SP2 and IE 7. Scroll down to the "Browsing" sections and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error," click OK. See if that eliminates the annoying error message. This has been a problem for quite awhile with me. I finally updated IE to 7 about 3 weeks ago hoping this would stop it, but no go. Although SP3 and then the IE7 updates would have updated a few of the files USED by Outlook Express, neither actually update Outlook Express to version 7. Your error message indicates that there is some unspecified error being found at the start of line 2253 in the "Preview.js" resource inside IEFRAME.DLL. OK, let's see what's on line 2253 of Preview.js var g_aDocTree = new Object(); var g_nDispPage = -1; var g_cLeftToPrint = 0; var g_fRTL = false; var g_fPreview; var g_nScreenDPI = 96 var g_nMarginTop = 0; var g_nMarginBottom = 0; var g_nMarginLeft = 0; var g_nMarginRight = 0; var g_nPageWidth = 0; var g_nPageHeight = 0; var g_strOrientation = Printer.orientation; var g_nScalePercent = 100; var g_fCheckAutoFit = false; var g_fCheckOrphan = false

Hi, I was using a tweek programe to tidy and speed up my machine and it's worked great and everything seems to be working fine except for one small problem in Outlook Express, when I click on it up comes this: Internet Explorer Script error Line 229 Char 1 Error object doesn't support this property or method Code 0 res//C:\PROGRAMES FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\msoeres.dll/frontpage.htm Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? This error doesn't stop me from using or collecting e-mail but when I first click on Outlook Express I am presented with a blank white screen. I could use a system restore point but that would bring the machine back to its old ways. Could someone tell me how to excactly fix this error Many thanks -- Sandal More about : script error message Anonymous May 24, 2005 1:29:24 PM Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support (More info?) Sandal, The 'tweak' program that you downloaded seems to have disabled "Active Scripting" for the Internet Zone. Open Control Panel Internet Options. Click the Security tab and click the Custom Level slider. Enable Active Scripting from the list. -- Ramesh, Microsoft MVP Windows XP Shell/User http://windowsxp.mvps.org "Sandal"
