Troubleshoot Computer Errors How to Fix a Script Error for Printing How to Fix a Script Error for Printing By Jason Candanedo eHow Contributor Jason Candanedo Follow Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save computer image by peter Hires Images from Fotolia.com While using Internet Explorer, a "Script error" message may appear when you try to print a web page. A script is a list of commands used by programs to generate websites. The script that Windows uses is called Visual Basic (VB). If VB does not understand or can't compute a command from the script list, the "Script error" message is displayed. The error will cause your printer to become unresponsive to the print command. There are several methods you can use to fix this problem; begin with the first method, then try printing the page again. If the problem persists, try the next method. Things You'll Need Printer Installation CD Change Internet Explorer Settings Bookmark the page that you plan to print so you can find it again easily once the error is fixed. Click on "Tools," found on the top of the Internet Explorer page, and then choose "Internet Options." A dialog box will open. Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top of the dialog box. Click the option boxes next to "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (other)." Click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the dialog box, and then click "OK." This will close the box. Shut down the Internet Explorer page by clicking on the "X" button located in the top right corner of the page. Double-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop to reopen Internet Explorer. Navigate back to the page you bookmarked and try printing again.
