Below is the error I keep getting https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/43fce83f-4b5c-4104-bcd0-9e8e77593069/error-10013?forum=w7itproappcompat when trying to send/forward emails from my account. Receiving has been no problem. OS is Windows 7 home X64. This is a brand new Dell inspirion 620 and the only problem so far is this Live mail issue. The connection to the server has failed. Subject '' Server: 'smtp-server.twcny.rr.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E Protocol: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10013 so far I have done the following steps to resolve the problem:contacted my service http://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/215793-windows-live-mail-error-id-0x800ccc0e.html provider to ensure all email settings were set correctly.--they were. they advised remove email accounts, windows live mail program, re-install live mail and setup accounts again. I did this twice with the same results--can not sned out emails. I have disabled the antivirus thinking that maybe the problem could be due to that--still no luck. Ihve changed the outgoing port to a secondary port provided by my provider--no luck here. I have also tried checking the block for "requires authenication"--this didn't do anything either. I have searched for days trying to find an answer to my problem and I am not getting anywhere. Getting desperate as I usually can figure things out but this problem has me baffled. If there is any one out there that may know of a fix, Please contact me. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement larguy Thread Starter Joined: Sep 24, 2008 Messages: 12 I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I am using Windows Live Mail with Comcast as my ISP. Recently I received the following error message: "Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', 'Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E,' 'Protocol: SMTP,' 'PORT:25,' 'Secure (SSL):No,' 'Socket Error 100060' " I can receive emails and go to web sites; however, I cannot send emails. They all go to Outbox. This is a new problem which has never previously occurred in over one year of use. Does anyone have a suggested fix? Thanks larguy, Jan 2, 2009 #1 Sponsor EAFiedler Moderator Joined: Apr 25, 2000 Messages: 14,042 Hi larguy Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail error codes Troubleshooting error messages that you receive when you try to send and receive e-mail in Outlook and Outlook Express Have you verified your mail server settings are correct? Deleted and rekeyed the server settings? If required, verify authentication for the outgoing server is enabled. Can you login in to your Comcast web mail server? Do you have plenty of storage remaining on the Comcast web mail server? What anti-virus program are you using? Is it configured to scan incoming and outgoing e-mails? What firewall are you using? Verify it is not blocking internet to the application or SMTP. Let us know what you find. EAFiedler, Jan 3, 2009 #2 larguy Thread Starter Joined: Sep 24, 2008 Messages: 12 Thanks for info from EAFielder. I verified my mail server settings and deleted and rekeyed. I enabled authentication (it was not previously on). I can login to Comcast web mail and can send and receive. I also can send and receive from Windows Mail -- but still cannot send from Windows Live Mail even with all of the above suggestions. I am using AVG (free) anti-virus program. It is configured to scan both incoming and outgoing message (the latter was not checked, but is now). I assume AVG is also my firewall?? If so, I am nor sure how to verify it is not blocking internet to the application or SMTP. Apparently, it is not doing so when I use Window Mail. I have not yet tried to get help from Comcast. What is suggested now? Thanks larguy, Jan 3, 2009 #3 DaveA David Trusted Advi
