the"requested entry not found (11004)" error when trying to log on to my popdserver and check mail. I can clear it up by restarting Windows XP Pro, butnot by simply closing and re-opening Eudora. It happens every day in what does socket error 11004 mean theafternoon or early evening (I'm not sure because I don't log on at aregular socket 11004 error time). There's no problem logging on before then and no problem forthe rest of the day after the restart. The problem occurs regardless

of what other applications I've run that day,and whether or not anything besides Eudora is open. And it happens on mydesktop computer but not on a laptop connected wirelessly through the samerouter. The laptop has the https://groups.google.com/d/topic/comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows/gjSWLVADi_4 same software combination and settings as thedesktop machine, but with WinXP Home Edition instead of XO Pro.I'm running Norton 2002 with autoprotect on and email scanning off. Theproblem does not seem to be Norton resetting the popd server definition.I've checked Eudora's "Getting Started" options window when the problemoccurs, before restarting WinXP, and the popd and smtp server settings arecorrect.Ideas? What should I check to try to diagnose the problem? Is theresomething I should http://comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows.narkive.com/miXmYtoP/once-daily-requested-entry-not-found-11004 look for in ZoneAlarm's firewall log? Thanks --Ephraim--Ephraim SchechterRaleigh NC Katrina Knight 2004-02-04 00:17:45 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Post by Ephraim SchechterI'm using Eudora 5.1 in paid mode. About two weeks ago I began getting the"requested entry not found (11004)" error when trying to log on to my popdserver and check mail.IIRC, 11004 errors are DNS problems. The entry not being found would bethe DNS entry for the pop server. Do you have any problem doing any otherthings that require a DNS lookup when this happens?Post by Ephraim SchechterI can clear it up by restarting Windows XP Pro, butnot by simply closing and re-opening Eudora. Are you sure it is the time ofday that matters as opposed to the length of time you've been connected?--Katrina Ephraim Schechter 2004-02-06 16:05:33 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Post by Katrina KnightPost by Ephraim SchechterI'm using Eudora 5.1 in paid mode. an IP address (as in 192.168.0.1). Is this a new account that you've https://www.mail-archive.com/support@list.ebase.org/msg01804.html just set up? Does it send and receive mail OK when you're not sending from Ebase? Are you connected to the internet when you try http://www.justanswer.com/computer/2xo92-installed-eudora-7-email-client-send-not.html to send? If none of those are the problem, is it possible that you have more than one copy of Eudora on your HD? If socket error so, and MAPI is turned on on more than one of them, FMP may be trying to pop open the copy you don't normally use, and send mail through that (which has incorrect account info). Just a wild guess, that..
