see ISA Server Help.(10065)"I've searched and searched without success, ideas? The site in question is http://www.news-2-you.com, it's an educational paid service site. socket error 10060 connection timed out windows 7 skipster -> RE: 500 Internal Server Error (16.Sep.2002 11:16:00 PM) It sounds like a DNS issue, can you do a NSLOOKUP on the FQDN and IP? does it return a name server? skipster -> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841664 RE: 500 Internal Server Error (16.Sep.2002 11:17:00 PM) It sounds like a DNS issue, can you do a NSLOOKUP on the FQDN and IP? does it return a name server? randy_ray -> RE: 500 Internal Server Error (18.Sep.2002 5:22:00 PM) Yes, I get a successful response to DNS query on any site that ISA won't access. I get the FQDN and the IP. tshinder -> RE: 500 Internal Server http://forums.isaserver.org/m_70067200/printable.htm Error (19.Sep.2002 4:13:00 PM) Hi Randy,I get there OK. Nice Kangeroo Thanks!Tom randy_ray -> RE: 500 Internal Server Error (19.Sep.2002 6:38:00 PM) Thanks, the special education kids that the site is intended for enjoy the Kangaroo too. The thing is I can get to all websites other than this one through ISA. As soon as I route myself around ISA I can get the Kangaroo. Through ISA I consistently get the "500 Internal Server Error - Host is unreachable. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help.(10065)" Unfortunately I cannot find any information from ISA Server Help, Tech Net, or here that gives me a clue as to why this one site won't pass through ISA. tshinder -> RE: 500 Internal Server Error (20.Sep.2002 10:56:00 PM) Hi Randy,Are you testing from an internal or external network client? For publishing issues, you should always test from an external network client. If you are having problems getting it from an internal network client, make sure that you're not "looping back" through the external interface of the ISA Server to get to the site -- you should be accessing the site directly via its internal IP address. Make sure the site is in the LDT and tha
the presence of firewall or anti-virus software on the local computer or network connection. Either can block the ports needed to make a successful FTP connection to the remote server. For a regular FTP session, either disable the http://help.globalscape.com/help/cuteftp8/Socket_errors_10060_10061_10064_10065.htm firewall or anti-virus software or configure them to allow CuteFTP to establish an FTP session over ports 20 and 21. Consult the documentation or help file for your specific firewall or antivirus software product for instructions. Usually the http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/ISA/microsoft.public.isa.vpn/2005-02/0006.html manufacturer of the device or software will also have specific instructions available on their Web site. If you continue to receive the same error after insuring ports 20 and 21 are open, contact the administrator of the site socket error you are trying to connect to. For more error code information, refer to Knowledge Base article 10140 at http://kb.globalscape.com. WSAETIMEDOUT (10060) 10060 is a connection-timeout error that usually appears when the client does not receive a response from the server for a specific command. This error often occurs when you try to connect in PASV mode to a server that prefers PORT for data connections. If you see an error log similar to the one below, in socket error 10060 the Site Properties of the problem site, click the Type tab, then change the Data Connection Type to Use PORT. COMMAND:> PASV 227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xx,xxx,xx,x,xxx). COMMAND:> LIST STATUS:> Connecting ftp data socket xxx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxx... ERROR:> Can't connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060. ERROR:> Failed to establish data socket. If you still receive a 10060 error, the server may be trying to send a listing for a very large directory (with many thousands of files) causing the client to time-out while waiting. Try increasing the time-out value in the Global Options dialog box (Tools > Global Options > Transfer > Reconnect and resume in [ n ] seconds if nothing received ) to a higher value, such as 45 or 60 seconds. The connection fails due to an error or timeout. Verify that the destination IP address is correct. Increase the connection timeout threshold under Global Settings > Connection. Switch to the opposite data connection type (PASV or PORT) under Site Settings > Type tab. Verify that the problem is not local by trying to connect to an alternate server. If a server name was used, verify it resolves to the correct address. If using a local server table for server name resolution, check to see that it doesn't resolve to an obsolete address. Try pinging the address. (See Troubleshooting Tips for details.) If y

If it resolves to a public IP# or some other IP# that is recognized as "external" it will always fail. Your other types of connections probably work fine because you are probably not using them with URLs and FQDNs. -- Phillip Windell [MCP, MVP, CCNA] www.wandtv.com "Tony" <*!SPAM-NO!*pctony@gmail.com> wrote in message news:OmFZGjsAFHA.936@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Hi Guys, > > Just a quickie: > > I am using my ISA server for a VPN Endpoint for a Site to Site VPN > connection.
