this problem? If a connection is not closed in the normaly way, instead of the OnClientDisconnect event an error will be raised. It is safe to assume that once the error http://www.delphigroups.info/2/4b/192956.html 10053 (only this one!) has occured, the client disconnected in an unusual way. So all you have to do, is to close the connection to this client and update the program (if necessary) with the new list of clients. To avoid the error message, set Handled to True in the OnError event of the server. Andy Other Threads 1. Asynchronous socket error 10053 2. I met Asynchronous Socket Error 10053! 3. I have a multi tier application that I have developed. When the client machine hibernates or goes into sleep mode, an a asynchronous socket error occurs on the server. I get an error message on the server which locls up the server until someone notices and clicks OK. I use Delphi 7. I use ASTA for the server. I use socket error 10053 TCP in what if understand correctly is a statefull connection. Not too sure about the lingo. How can I detect that the client is about to Sleep / Hibernate? I want a popup to ask the client to log off before nappy time is allowed or if that is too much to at least kill the connection so that my server doesn't get it's underwear in a bunch? 0 Question by:Skygizmo Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 4 Best Solution byJonasMalmsten Oh, I didn't know that about Vista. I got most of the documentation by pressing F1 in Delphi (version 5 hehe) with cursor over WM_POWERBROADCAST. Which TCP Server component are you using? 0 Message Author Comment by:Skygizmo2009-06-10 Capturing the exception would be nice. And as I think about it, you are right that I should in case all else fails. I use Asta Client Socket and Asta sever socket. Still, I
