I have made the code I'm using available as HSHK, and CRYSRelatedSocketTrio on pastebin The specific problem I'm having with C# Sockets is with a async receive method I'm using. You can see where the error is thrown at line 13-20 in the HSHK file. Here is the breakdown for the CRYSRelatedSocketTrio class -TCP_A_HSHK - accepting socket -TCP_HSHK_RS1 - receiving socket -TCP_HSHK_RS2 - sending socket (not important) The TCP_A_HSHK socket http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28799157/c-sharp-tcp-socket-error-10057-with-async-recv-method is started at the beginning of the CRYSRelatedSocketTrio file. Next, the sending socket is configured and bound (code not shown). Then, the accepting socket begins listening and accepting. Note: CRYSTrio in the HSHK file is a local CRYSRelatedSocketTrio variable Does anyone know why Socket ErrorCode 10057 is being thrown at line 13-20 in the HSHK file? c# sockets asynchronous runtime-error socketexception share|improve this question edited Mar 1 '15 at 21:20 asked Mar 1 '15 at 21:13 user3799906 1116 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? Iam successfully running my client server application up to 1 hour.....after that i encountered "socket read error 10057" or socket write error 10057". in my code socket error code every time iam successfully creating new socket for each request session->hSocket = ::WSASocket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_IP, NULL, 0, WSA_FLAG_OVERLAPPED); and assosiating it to iocompletionport. HANDLE hPort = ::CreateIoCompletionPort((HANDLE)session->hSocket, (HANDLE)g_work_port, (int) context, 0); this hport didnot return NULL even i got 10057 error. int ret = ::WSARecv(session->hSocket, &buffer, 1, &read_bytes, &dwFlags, &context->ol, NULL); but "WSARecv" returns -1 and sometimes gives socket error and sometimes it returns WSA_IO_PENDING. after this error it willnot satisfy any other requests. it always hits this error. when iam trying to access it. I couldint understand the problem ( why the socket is not connecting?)whether the iocompletion queue was filled or ........ but iocompletion port never returns null. thanking u for a quick solution. So u should connect again to send or receive data from peer application. A Person who is polite is given goodness and

Combine it with the precise instruction found in C# Network Programming, and you'll find that building network applications is easier and quicker than ever. This book helps newcomers get started with a look at the basics of network programming as they relate to C#, including the language's network classes, the Winsock interface, and DNS resolution. Spend as much time here as you need, then dig into the core topics of the network layer. You'll learn to make sockets connections via TCP and "connectionless" connections via UDP. You'll also discover just how much help C# gives you with some of your toughest chores, such as asynchronous socket programming, multithreading, and multicasting. Network-layer techniques are just a means to an end, of course, and so this book keeps going, providing a series of detailed application-layer programming examples that show you how to work with real protocols and real network environments to build and implement a variety of applications. Use SNMP to manage network devices, SMTP to communicate with remote mail servers, and HTTP to Web-enable your applications. And use classes native to C# to query and modify Active Directory entries. Rounding it all out is plenty of advanced coverage to push your C# network programming skills to the limit. For example, you'll learn two ways to share application methods across the network: using
