severs and oracle. When I tried connecting it would start to conect and a message would pop up saying "Socket Error connection timed out" I've only had gotten cockatrice 2-3 days ago and today it has had this https://www.reddit.com/r/Cockatrice/comments/3n3vhe/new_to_cockatrice_socket_errorconnection_timed/ problem. For Oracle if been getting the same error where the mbs stays at 0 and the socket error has come up. I have downloaded to json file and fixed that but I can't download the tokens. I have looked up how to fix this problem but i have come to conclusion that i couldn't fix it so I can to you as my final attempt. P.S. sorry if i didnt put enough info this is https://github.com/Cockatrice/Cockatrice/issues/1840 my first time with Github Daenyth added OS - Windows Troubleshooting labels Mar 1, 2016 Daenyth changed the title from Help having some errors to Connection timed out Mar 1, 2016 Cockatrice member Daenyth commented Mar 1, 2016 Connection time out means that your computer sent information to the server (and the mtgjson site) but spent too much time waiting with no reply. Typically this means it's a problem on your network. What kind of network are you on? Are you on a managed network like a university or work? They might have software intercepting the requests and making them fail. With oracle, try visiting the url from the app in your web browser - if you can download the file like that, you can run the import for it from the file instead of having oracle download it. FoxTrot199 commented Mar 1, 2016 @Daenyth I'm on a WiFi extender because i have a dead zone in my house and I'm going to presume that might be the issue? woogerboy21 commented Mar 1, 2016 One way to find out is to actually move to a segment of the network that is not on the extender Cockatrice member ZeldaZach commented Sep 29, 2016 If this is still an issue for you, please feel free to reopen! "Socket error: connection timed out". socket error This happens after I selected "connect", enter my username and password and then hit "ok". I am confused on why this keeps happening. I have deleted everything and re-downloaded it but it did nothing. Also, my wifi connection is strong and that shouldn't be the problem. If I could get some assistance asap that would be amazing. Thanks! ctrlaltca commented Nov connection timed out 30, 2014 The error is quite generic, and it means that your pc can't connect to the server. This can be due to multiple causes: misspelled server name your network is not allowing connections to that specific server / type of service (eg. university wifi) your antivirus/firewall software is blocking connections from the cockatrice software anything else (viruses, driver problems, cosmic rays, ...) Cockatrice member ZeldaZach commented Nov 30, 2014 Cosmic Rays? Really? /sarcasm lol ctrlaltca commented Nov 30, 2014 I just meant "anything else that is in no way related to cockatrice itself". subxzero commented Dec 1, 2014 It was working about a month ago but then I tired playing and it happened. I haven't changed wifi or anything so I'm confused. Also this computer doesn't have a virus. I'm 100% sure that I entered my username and password right. I also haven't changed firewalls or anything since it worked last. Anything else I could try? subxzero commented Dec 1, 2014 Oh and by "it" I meant the error message that keeps coming up. subxzero commented Dec 1, 2014 Fo

Close Why can't I connect to Cockatrice Online Magic forum Posted on Dec. 11, 2013, 6:50 p.m. by flyguy Today, I downloaded Cockatrice, created some decks, a username and password, and played some local games. However, when I tried to connect to the server to play online, it would give me an error, reading "Socket error: Connection timed out". Does anybody know what is going on?
