I am trying to use the DCS-920 management ftp socket error 10060 tools through the browser. Under FTP Settings, no matter what I put in the fields (IP address or Domain name under Host Name, my username & password for my website, path blank or with subfolders, passive mode = yes or no) when I click "Test" it always says "Invalid FTP Server". I can use Filezilla or IE FTP no problem. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

If so can you access the FTP with the camera with the FTP local IP address from the camera? data is destined to be sent.Normally an FTP server runs on a specific machine what is a socket error and has a socket that is set to a specific port number. The server mainly waits and listens to the socket socket error 11001 host not found for a client to make a connection request. The client makes a connection request by trying to meet with the server on the server's machine and port. If everything goes well, the server accepts the http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=9801.0 connection. Upon acceptance, the server gets a new socket bound to the same port. It needs a new socket so that it can continue to listen to the original socket for connection requests from other clients while tending to the needs of the currently connected client. On the client side, if the connection is accepted, a socket is successfully created and the client can use the socket to communicate http://www.networkautomation.com/urc/knowledgebase/common-ftp-socket-errors/02899795-9874-19FA-89D9FA88304286FA/ with the server. The client and server can now communicate by writing to or reading from their sockets. A socket error can occur if one or more of the above conditions are not met or something is blocking communication between the client and server (e.g. firewall, anti-virus). Additionally, a client connection can already be established with a server when a socket error occurs such as in cases when the network connection goes down or the host that the client connected to suddenly crashed and/or rebooted. Common FTP Socket Error Codes 11001 - Host not found. Check that the hostname or IP address has been entered correctly. 11004 - Valid name, no data record of requested type. This error generally indicates that the specified FTP server name is incorrect or not specified. Try entering the hostname or IP address, not a URL (e.g. if ftp://server.domain.com/ is entered, then change it to server.domain.com). Another possibility is that connection is blocked by a firewall. Try temporarily turning off the Windows firewall or any other software firewall you are running.10061 - Connection refused. The hostname is correct, but the FTP server is not listening on the port, there is no FTP server running, or a firewall is blocking the connection.10093 - Co
by Adam Beguelin Tweet The DCS-930L is a decent little camera and only $79.99 from Amazon right now. Â The instructions say you need a PC to set it up, but that's not quite true. Â You http://sensr.net/blog/2011/02/01/how-to-configure-a-dcs-930l-from-mac-or-linux/ can skip the install of the setup CD and just connect to the camera directly with your browser. Â In this blog post I'll show you how to set up the camera without using the installed software. I'll also show you how to configure the camera to push images to the sensr.net site so you can take advantage of all the cool sensr.net features like archiving, sharing, and alerting that our site provides. Overview Connect the socket error camera to power and ethernet Go to your router and find the IP address for the camera Point your browser at the camera's IP address and configure it Tell Sensr.net about your camera Tell your camera about Sensr.net Details Step 2 means you're going to need to know how to log into your router. Â You can find this from your computer's settings. Â On a Mac you go to Network Settings > Advanced > ftp socket error TCP/IP. Â For my computer it looks like this: Network Settings Control Panel This means my network router is at the IP address 10.1.1.1. Â A more common setting is 192.168.1.1. Â Once you find this, you can go to your browser and log into your router's web page. Â For me this is http://10.1.1.1 but you should use the router setting from your control panel. Â You will probably need to log into your router. Â Routers differ widely. Once you log into your router, look for a page that shows the attached devices. Â Here's that page from my router. Â I clicked on "Attached Devices" in the left hand column to get this view: Attached Devices Page You can see from the above page that my DCS-930L has the IP address 10.1.1.20. Â Now you can simply point your browser to that address, http://10.1.1.20 and configure your camera. Â You'll need to log in with the user name "admin" and leave the password blank. Â You should see a page like this: DCS-930L Admin page You can now make changes to your camera's config through your browser. Â You don't need to do anything else if you just want to view the camera from inside your home. Â However, if you want to view it from outside, you can setup the camera to work with sensr.net. Â (There are other configs like w
