Either way the problem is on this line : bn = "star" add n; and this line : set(bn add ":n", n);. Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Action Script : Syntax error: expecting identifier before leftbrace up vote 0 down vote favorite From the Google search, I found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10062287/flash-error-1084-syntax-error so many faced this error but still I couldn't fix this issue in my code, SO had to create this new thread :| I used sothink SWF quicker to edit a existing swf file ( SWF file I used ) I imported this swf file and when I tried to preview the swf file it produced these errors ERROR: fromtext_15.as, Line 7: Syntax error: expecting identifier before leftbrace. Your problem is that you've opened two brackets (parentheses) and closed only one.
