I create a recordset of all users when the program is started and then select USERNAME and GRANTED_ROLE from the record set where USERNAME and PASSWORD are found. I use a "Set role 'GRANTED_ROLE' identified by 'password'" statment and Cn.Execute statement to set up the user's access rights. This is all done in a Module. On a form, I want to call a Stored Procedure that will SELECT, INSERT and UPDATE information into another schema's tables. I am able to call and run the stored procedure when I create a new connection to the database with this code: Dim cmd5040 As ADODB.Command Dim conn5040 As ADODB.Connection Dim param5040 As ADODB.Parameter Set conn5040 = New ADODB.Connection conn5040 = "Driver={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};" & _ "SERVER=PSPROD; UID=XXXXXXX; PWD=XXXXXXXX" conn5040.Open Set cmd5040 = New ADODB.Command With cmd5040 .ActiveConnection = conn5040 .CommandType = adCmdStoredProc .CommandText = "S4115040_IMPORT_NEWBIDITEMSPES.S4115040_CheckTime" .Parameters.Append .CreateParameter(, adInteger, adParamInputOutp

CREATE PROC procTest(lname VARCHAR(50)) AS SELECT * FROM T_Employees t WHERE t.LastName = lname; I get the error: Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Syntax error or access violation SQLState: 37000 ErrorCode: 55 I'm a real n00b at stored procedures so I'm not sure what syntax error or the issue is here... sql ms-access stored-procedures ms-access-2003 squirrel-sql share|improve this question edited Oct 10 '12 at 16:59 asked Oct 10 '12 at 15:30 leeand00 8,7101988200 Instead of Create Proc can you try CREATE PROCEDURE –Marc Oct 10 '12 at 15:34 Do you havea SQL Server backend? –HLGEM Oct 10 '12 at 15:36 Nope. It's just MS-Access 2003. I'm working on importing it into SQL Server though... –leeand00 Oct 12 '12 at 18:49 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted You're attempting to create the procedure from an ODBC connection. Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] CREATE PROCEDURE was introduced in Jet 4, and AFAIK can only be executed from ADO, and ODBC supports only DAO, not ADO. I suspect you will not be able to create that parameter query from Squirrel SQL. You must either create it from within Access or via an ADO connection. Or if you can shell out from Squirrel to run a VBScript, create one which uses an ADO connection to create that query. share|improve this answer answered Oct 10 '12 at 15:41 HansUp 79.3k114371 add a comment| Your An
