For other people who've got this error but haven't used heredoc syntax the problem may be because a subversion conflict message has inserted the same brackets into the file –icc97 Feb 20 '15 at 15:52 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 42 down vote accepted Check for whitespace after << here for a quick overview of the site Help Center Detailed answers to any questions you might have Meta Discuss the workings and heredoc php policies of this site About Us Learn more about Stack Overflow the company Business Learn more about hiring developers or posting ads with us Stack Overflow Questions Jobs Documentation Tags Users Badges Ask Question x Dismiss Join the Stack Overflow Community Stack Overflow is a community of 6.2 million programmers, just like you, helping each other. From what i have been reading it's normally from extra spaces/tabs/white space. In this case there are none. I have even hard coded the email and was still receiving the error. I have tried placing http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17748582/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-t-sl the end of the EOD on another line with no spaces and still doesn't work. Where did you encounter syntax error unexpected this problem, does this happen with every page when tt_news is installed? #2 Updated by Oliver Hader over 8 years ago As Benni already mentioned, we need some more input. Also your error message was cut off "in /httpd/trunk/t3lib/class.t3lib_htmlmail.php on lin..." - when we have the line number, this would also be helpful.(besides that I could not find any PHP parse error in the mentioned file, maybe locally currupted file due to patching?) #3 Updated by Stefano Cecere over 8 years ago i'll come back to it soon .. sorry for the delay #4 Updated by Stefano Cecere over 8 years ago this bug can be closed..with latest 4.2 beta 3 the problem isn't there anymore!
