I recently have taken over design of a friend's website, http://legendsofthestands.com. The site had already been named and created prior to my coming onboard. Today, I tried to upload a new template via the admin panel after logging in, and received the following error: ‘Parse error: syntax error, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20931450/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-t-sl unexpected end of file in /home/kcsuperf/public_html/legendsofthestands.com/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/functions.php on line 1028' I am a junior dev, but I was not able to see this code anywhere in the admin panel to try and troubleshoot this error. Now, I am not able to log in to the admin panel whatsoever. If I can somehow log back in to the admin panel https://wordpress.org/support/topic/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-end-of-file-6/ I should be able to reconfigure to bring the website back up. Please help! Trace the error by using print_r() or echo(). It's probably not in the functions.php file, unless you have been editing it. Sometimes, it's easier to start a build with a clean install. It's faster and far less frustrating than tracing what other devs have done to a website. If you don't know how to trace an error, this is CRUCIAL knowledge. http://www.lynda.com/PHP-tutorials/Tracking-down-parse-errors/146234/157700-4.html jb198720131 @jb198720131 11 months, 2 weeks ago The problem isn't so much that I can't trace an error, it's that I'm not able to even log in to the page now without receiving the same error. [Resolved] Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /wp-includes/load.php [Resolved] Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /wp-includes/load.php tdtvbkt4321 @tdtvbkt4321 2 months, 1 week ago Hello, I've just updated the Breadcrumb Navxt to the newest version AT THE SAME TIME trying to Update my WordPress (4.6 RC2). After updated BN to the newest successfully and the WP encounted unidentify error like everytime. My Blog got error about load.php (main line 317) if ( ! apply_filters( 'enable_wp_debug_mode_checks', true ) ){ return; }
After changed it to false and the error code changed to "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /wp-includes/load.php on line 492" Rechanged to true and still got that error. /* * Sometimes advanced-cache.php can load object-cache.php before * it is loaded here. This breaks the function_exists check above * and can result in$_wp_using_ext_object_cache
being set How can i fix this? Viewing 15 replies - 1 through 15 (of 15 total) Moderator James Huff @macmanx 2 months, 1 week ago Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account's control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). tdtvbkt4321 @tdtvbkt4321 2 months, 1 week ago Thank for the quick replied. I've tried those 3 solutions but still nothing changed. I've try changed the plugins folder name and even in phpAdmin => nothing. The current theme folder name => still nothing. Moderator James Huff @macmanx 2 months, 1 week ago So, with all plugins deactivated and the theme reset, you still get the parse error on load.php? Breadcrumb Navxt is not connected to this in any way? tdtvbkt4321 @tdtvbkt4321 2 months, 1 week ago Well, i've just started WP like 5-6 days so… haha… But yeah just after i updated the Breadcrumb Navxt to the newest AT THE SAME TIME i tried to update WP (4.6 RC2) then *pop*. I can't access to it no more. Moderator James Huff @macmanx 2 months, 1 week ago Ok, I've got that part. 😉 A couple of questions though: 1. With all plugins deactivated and the theme reset, yo
