I now know that the site was hacked. I don't have access to the WP admin CP since it also comes with the same error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/content/xx/xxxxx/html/websites/xxxxxxxx/wp-includes/functions.php on line 192 And this is the line of code in the php file: $mm = substr( $mysqlstring, 8, 2 ); // Mysql string Month Any one can help? this parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$host' (t_variable) is the whole block: function size_format( $bytes, $decimals = 0 ) { $quant = array( // ========================= Origin ==== 'TB' => 1099511627776, // pow( 1024, 4) 'GB' => 1073741824, // pow( 1024, 3) 'MB' => 1048576, // pow( 1024, 2) 'kB' => 1024, // pow( 1024, 1) 'B ' => 1, // pow( 1024, 0) ); foreach ( $quant as $unit => $mag ) if ( doubl// Mysql string Year $mm = substr( $mysqlstring, 8, 2 ); // Mysql string Month $md = substr( $mysqlstring, 5, 2 ); // Mysql string day $day = mktime( 0, 0, 0, $md, $mm, $my ); // The timestamp for mysqlstring day. $weekday = date( 'w', $day ); // The day of the week from the timestamp if ( !is_numeric($start_of_week) ) $start_of_week = get_option( 'start_of_week' ); if ( $weekday < $start_of_week ) $weekday += 7; $start = $day - 86400 * ( $weekday - $start_of_week ); // The most recent week start day on or before $day $end = $start + 604799; // $start + 7 days - 1 second return compact( 'start', 'end' ); } /** * Unserialize value only if it was serialized. * * @since 2.0.0 * * @param string $original Maybe unserialized original, if is needed. * @return mixed Unserialized data can be any type. */ function maybe_unserialize( $original ) { if ( is_serialized( $origina

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /functions.php parse error: syntax error, unexpected '' (t_encapsed_and_whitespace) on line 192 lisage1 @lisage1 3 years, 6 months ago Hi, i think my wp-sites got hacked. I was reading in the forum that other users had the same problems a few month ago. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14324305/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-t-variable-in-functions-php-on-line-192 But I didn't really find no solution. Changing the functions.php was only solving the problem temporary. I've contacted the hoster already. They told me that they have found a list of directories/data with malicious code. Could somebody please tell me which steps to https://wordpress.org/support/topic/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-t_variable-in-functionsphp-on-line-192-193 take to get my pages clean and working again? PHP Forum View Course 581 points Submitted by Christian Naccour over 1 year ago 8/10 https://www.codecademy.com/en/forum_questions/5587602f76b8fe0d54000440 - Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting T_FUNCTION on line 24 Guys this is driving me insane. It is letting me pass, i just dont know what the error is though. Any help is really appreciated 2 votes permalink I just had the same problem! Your initialization statements: $dog1 = new Dog("Barker"); syntax error $dog2 = new Dog("Amigo"); happen inside the class declaration! They are nested inside the class Dog, like how a $name variable or constructor function would be. They need to be placed outside your class, like where echo $dog1->bark(); is. 1418 points Submitted by Eric Shively over 1 year ago 4 Comments Christian syntax error, unexpected Naccour over 1 year ago Thank you for your answer.... i wonder why though!? and why wasnt that mentioned in the instructions! :( but thanks anyways :) Eric Shively over 1 year ago If you're wondering why, it's because when you have class { } everything inside is part of the class. If you want to create a dog it needs to be outside of the { }. You were creating a dog object inside the class (defining what a dog is) Patrick Gleavey over 1 year ago Wowwww. Thanks man. makes perfect sense. Very hard to spot too, I looked over my code like 10 times, scrutinizing every little bit trying to solve it myself. Frustrating, but that frustration will lead me to never make a similar mistake, haha. kcorbluigi over 1 year ago never say never...you may make the same mistake again. just saying i'm a developer full time and make "dumb" mistakes often
