error in the title, so I went into the bios and found that CPU_Fan and Cha_Fan1 were big red bars.Screenshot: cpu overheating error asus http://prntscr.com/4hvvzkAs you can see, I don't think it is to do with my CPU overheating. It's probably something to do with the red bars.Any way to fix this? 2 answers Last reply Aug 30, 2014 http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/solved-cpu-over-temperature-error-but-is-it-really-619511.html Best Answer Aug 30, 2014 More about cpu temperature error Best answer volcanoscoutAug 30, 2014, 1:27 AM Basically your fans' RPMs have dropped below the default warning threshold. You can either adjust the fan duty cycle so it's minimum RPM is higher, or you can lower the alarm threshold. In Advanced mode, in Monitoring, look for Q-Fan settings. There should be an option for setting various RPM levels - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2280030/cpu-temperature-error.html select one that is lower than your CPU cooler fan's normal idle RPM. rolli59Aug 30, 2014, 1:27 AM You should be able to set the target speed for the fan warning. I'm really worried and confused So recently whenever I try to boot up my PC I get the CPU Over Temperature Error -- when I press f1 to enter bios it says my cpu is running aroud 64 degrees C (which I think is fine for a h60i cooling a 4670k). I think there are two possible reasons for this -- one, I recently cpu over temperature changed the thermal compound (im using artic silver 5), and two, I tried upgrading to windows 10 recently, my house had a power-outage halfway through the install and shit kinda broke but I was able to restore to windows 7. Also, I noticed the pump for my h60i was making a ton of noise after I changed the thermal compound.Anyway, I have no idea what to do at this point and I'm scared because I don't want to break anything! My computer has just been acting really weird lately and I have no idea what to do!As far as components go, I'm using a Core i5 4670k and an Asus Maximus VI Gene. Any help would be fantastic!Marc share
 DXMember DXMember Member 5,969 posts Location: Between a chair and a keyboard Posted August 30, 2015 do you still have warranty on that H60sounds like a bad pump that sometimes fails to start up properly CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)Storage: Samsung 950Pro 512GB // OCZ Vector150 240GB // Seagate 1TB | PSU: Seasonic 1050 Snow Silent | Case: NZXT H440 | Cooling: Nepton 240MFireStrike // Extreme // Ultra // 8K // 16K share
 OAcesync OAcesync Member 2,916 posts People caring a lo
