started out and continues with the voice alert that Avast has been updated repeating itself twice upon a start-up or wake-up. One right after the other. Although the visual notification only pops up one time. Most of the time https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=93983.0 I hear the voice twice; sometimes I hear the "ding" twice. I'm religious about running scans and get zero errors. But this morning when I "woke" the sleeping elf (it's small) I got this notification at my log-in screen: "Avast Application Error The instruction at 0x00fa738a referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate." After clicking OK, I still got the message that Avast was updated. Thanks. Sometimes the problem can be easily solved by uninstalling and then re-installing the program, if you have not tried that yet. I'm sure someone else will have a better and more specific answer, but it can't hurt to try : ) I fixed one of my drivers that way. I re-installed avast 4 times in 1 week a few months ago for the same problem. I also scoured the net looking for reasons, including 2 separate virus help forums (under an alias). The advice is always the same.. "You're clean, just re-install Avast. This made me just lose faith in Avast, and made me convinced i was infected with a new strain of virus thus far undetectable. I hate saying this to someone as OCD about their security as i am, but i ended up Wipeing my disk, and giving the PC to my son, who now uses it to play

Out of Memory error" SortSort by date addedSort by rating icekoldozy May 2015 3 posts I'm using windows 7 I have never had any problem with Opera before. Two days ago I turned on my computer and opened opera. Usually it goes straight to the last tabs I have open but instead on every Tab where the web page should be I have " Out of Memory" in big red letters and underneath "Either Opera ran out of memory or the process for the webpage was terminated for some other reason." and in bold "Try reloading the page, or navigate to another page to continue." Then I get a button "reload this page". Reloading does not work. Any Page I have more than enough memory. Clicking the opera button and opening settings/extensions/new tab etc creates a new tab with the same message. The only thing that resolves this is to reinstall opera and it works fine until I close and reopen Opera. I have no other issue on any browser on my computer. I have googled the message like i do whenever i receive an error message quoting it exactly. 0 results. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. 29 Replies - 1632 Views lando242 May 2015 ↑ 1 ↓ 0 2686 posts Do you have your virtual memory, a.k.a. your pagefile, disabled?
